softopper was bought by bestop last year, i’d bet that has something to do with the new marketing efforts

Like @uurx said, it's a Frontrunner Slimeline II. Extremely strong and well built, with a ton of accessories. They are also the most expensive cab rack on the market. I scored and got mine second hand off Facebook Marketplace for $300. New I think they're North of $900

the uptop rack costs more than the front runner IIRC

I am biased though as well, I love my front runner cab rack

Shoutout to @MeefZah For the pro tip. All this time off, got me doing random shit. 3/4” PVC pipe and some stainless steel snaps, it’s all good to hook. Sides roll up nicely.

I joined the club also. Couldn't pass up the special last week. Fit seems great, easy set up. Thanks for all the input and pics. New top.jpg

Posted this in the "what have you done to your 3rd gen today" thread the other day. But I finally got around to getting a custom-fabbed rack to go up and around the Softopper, and then bolted a Prinsu toprack on top of that to line up with the one I already have over the cab. I tried getting up with you on IG, @Mobtown Offroad for yours, but didn't hear back from you. All good, I know you're busy!

I don’t understand what he did. What is the PVC with the snap for?

Softtoppers are for people who want to hide the fact they never haul anything.

    Change my mind

Judging by your recent post history, you’re horribly bored from staying home, haven’t brushed your teeth, your retirement/investments aren’t doing well, so now you’re going around being a troll.

    Change my mind.

Dang that's a better deal than last month's promo I barely talked myself out of. I kinda want to save up for an AluCab canopy but $$$ and my wife hates they way they look. EDIT: derp, didn't account for shipping, dang it.

    Many & varied
I bought it to cover my cargo. Summer road trips in subtropical climates mean daily showers. With the wife & kids, there's no room for stashing our camping gear in the backseat. When it's not being used, it is retracted and stowed in the cover so I can haul lumber, bikes, kayaks, deerstands and yard equipment.

Solid idea. I’m gonna copy that.

where did you procure those snaps? I don’t want to pay $20 for a “kit” on Amazon only to need 4’of them.
