why not support American businesses instead of trying to save a few dollars by buying used?

Hey just ordered my first soft topper after getting that nice stimulus check Plus the discount softopper is having right now. Been wanting one for a long time for my Tacoma, can see an inside flap needs velcro and a tailgate flap needs Velcro as well. Was wondering what everyone’s best method was on the truck, was thinking magnets might work. Was looking through the thread and couldn’t find anything, anyone have info ?

The inside flap can use snaps or velcro and I preferred the snaps. Just requires 3 tiny holes drilled in the bed. The tailgate some guys sew magnets into the flap.

What kind of bike rack is it? I might have to look into something like that.

Thanks I’d prefer not to drill the bed though, hopefully the Velcro that’s provided works if not I’ll check Amazon, if anyone has some good methods let me know

I just use the snaps they go in super easy, I only put in the outside 2 plus I dont have to worry about debris filling up the velcro.

i’ve got a 2nd gen front bed rail. i cut out some adjustable straps (3), then i stuck a button snap on one end of them. the other ends attach to the front rail.

it keeps things taut with no holes and no velcro. it would’ve been easier to just mount the snaps to the bed per the instructions, but uh, whatever...

Got mine installed today, came super quick. Used the velcro on the tailgate and will add the snaps for the flap this evening.

Sold my ST today. Bolted right up to a third gen with no issues. Woulda been a little better with 1/2” longer bolts but these ones worked. Straight bar worked well too on the tailgate.

I am turning my long bed into a short bed. I may put a shortbed softopper on it when I’m done.

That doesn't seem like a lot of work or anything?
