I ran no Velcro for a bit and it would flap on the highway. One time there was a steady rain and a bunch of water got sucked into the bed and sprayed all my gear. It was a non issue since it was in totes, but still. Since then I added a magnet and it works great.

    list is growing fast
Magnets on the back flap. Don’t even think of doing Velcro or anything else. Magnets are the best, the only way.

Yeah I don't use anything on the back either, I put my topper as forward as posible and the flap sits nice on the edge of the tailgate, barely moves on highway.

I didn’t do the Velcro....figured the magnet mod was the way to go. That was added to the list of things to do a long time ago....still hasn’t happened.

Depending on how you locate your topper affects how much overhang the back flap has. I don’t have an issue with water or flapping but some do. Even if you added the Velcro...well, it’s Velcro. Slide a finger along the strip and it’s undone.

You do have to lift the softopper back panel about an inch with your finger as you close the tailgate. Megh.

Both are good. Both have minor idiosyncrasies. Both do the job.

Since they are both owned by the same people now, those that feel the need to identify with one or the other better jump quick before some terrible, nation destroying, freedom trampling, bastardization of a topper comes out....combining the DNA of the two and leaving only one choice, ONE CHOICE!

How will we ever express our individuality (and superiority) if we can’t join thousands and thousands of others in being ‘us’ instead of ‘them’?

That’s communism and I won’t stand for it!

There’s too many to multi quote.... but I went with a Velcro-Magnet hybrid. Strip of Velcro glued to strip of magnets with vinyl on the magnet to keep it from scratching the paint.

Ah dang. I was hoping for a miracle cure. The main place the water is getting in is the front flap at the corners. Any advice on getting those down closer to the bed or close them up?

I used foam weatherstripping crushed in the vertical gap between the bedsides and the front. For the top of the rail I used a small self adhesive rubber moulding to ‘return’ the side rails along the top of the back a few inches. I can drive through a monsoon and only get a drop or two squeezing through.

Crappy. Happy with the topper tho? I've come to realize it may be the best option for me. don't want a fiberglass cap - $$$ and a pain in the ass to take on and off, and a tonneau might leave me with a lack of space for camping trips etc when I have more gear, and may need the space for another dog n the future. This seems like the nest of all worlds, for what I need.

i bought the softopper in my head before i bought the taco. i knew i was going to get it. it's perfect for me and does everything i need it to. wouldn't trade it for the world. i have nowhere to store a hard top. i need to transport mountain bikes during the summer and i need to camp in it.

Softopper for us campers is great, also is not on the way when you need to use the bed to carry loads as a hard cover it's a pain to take off and storage. 20201123_162020.jpg , perfect to carry furry friends as well.

Just got my softopper and love it so far. I see a few people who have a crease/wrinkle near the cab on the drivers/passenger side. I have the same issue. Anyone resolve this? or does it work itself out on its own?

That wrinkle means the bars need adjusted underneath. Play with the tightness both front and back to get it to go away.

I have tried adjusting the straps and even moved the mounting pin down one hole, didn't make a difference. The wrinkle is only on the drivers side. Passengers side is smooth.
