Does it still come with the gear aid sealer with the brush cap? That's quality seam sealer, it's just that the brush cap doesn't work well for applying it upside down.

I noticed the same thing when I attempted to seal mine. My solution was to lay a tarp over my bed in my bedroom. Once I folded down the ST on the truck, I pulled it off the truck and opened it on the bed upside down so I could easily get to all the seams with gravity working in my favor.

The straps along the sides absolutely need to be soaked through to keep them from wicking. I also applied clear Plasti-Dip to the straps on the outside of the ST with a cheap brush and let it soak thoroughly into the webbing. Completely water tight!

Good idea with the clear plastidip. I also think I will remove it this try when i apply it. We've been dry for 2 days with rain forecast next week. Looks like today will be the day to give it a go.

Still need to get the proper drop for the hitch. The nose high situation is unacceptable.PXL_20210105_173220668.jpg

E41F3AC7-1618-465D-9A84-915219B5DDE6.jpg Got my topper off of someone here on TW last week. I’ll be using it to camp when I’m up in the mountains to ride this winter, and as basecamp when I backpack (or do anything else) during summer.

Luckily I happened upon @powder1134 reflectix post last week, and went and bought a roll before my first trip (thank you!)

My topper and I made it through 4 days of 60 mph winds and single-digit night temps in the Eastern Sierra with flying colors :) I freakin love this thing. I am a very cold sleeper to begin with, so it was pretty incredible to wake up toasty warm with 10 hrs of sleep behind me. Made for some excellent riding days.

Can’t wait to add a few mods to my truck bed to help with gear storage.

    11/10 for softopper

Waiting for advice from Softopper, but do you think a Tear-Aid patch would help? Or uphostelry shop? Zipper for rear window is tearing away from canopy ceiling.

I don’t think tear aid would work. It is kinda stretchy and starts to peel/crack after a while.

Just joined the club. I’m very happy with the quality. Cool day, and it took some warm sun and effort to get the fabric’s corners snapped. I ended up loosening one of the rails a bit, snapping that last corner, then snugging the clamps again. I’ll be working on some magnets for the tailgate.

Picked up a box today, was headed home, the fella called me, said, “come back, I have something for you”. A CanBack softopper. It’s rough, need some work to straighten out, but man, I got it free!! I need new window panels, I’m going to poke around local, see who can make these new for me. A little bit of work, I’ll throw a basket up there, and call it good!! Free!! Knew all that Karma I was sowing would come back!!

How in the blue fuck did a canback just randomly land in your lap? This sounds like a superhero origin story or something.
