I run mine with no rear window. Might use the mesh window.

I do the same other than in winter. Judging from the picture, it looks like we both also roll up the rear window and store it in the bed by tucking the tailgate bar in forward of the front strap hooks. Fits well there out of the way. And if you need it you have it.

Most of the time my window is rolled up. I like having quick access to the bed. But if I'm going on a long trip with dirt roads I always close it up. I forgot before and everything back there gets dusty

Has anyone added an extension/skirt from the softopper to a lowered tailgate? I looked around but couldn't find anything similar. I'm in the process of sewing up an extension so I can drop the tailgate, add the extension, and sleep in the bed of the truck (I don't have a long bed and I'm over 6' tall.) It will go over a bed extender to add more overall room, and make it comfortably large.

As a side note, Softopper is amazing. After I ordered mine I called back and asked about where I could source some fabric from and they just said they'd sell me some at cost, no worries. They even grabbed my box off the shipping rack and put it in there so I didn't have to pay more shipping. 10/10 absolutely great customer service.

I just slip mine out and button it up where it goes normally.

Meh - sounds cool, but I would just get something like this, it's already done:

Eh, I enjoy the DIY aspect, and why half-ass it when I can color match it to the topper? I thought we were all about looks, here!?

Because I'm in and out of the bed all season I like to remove the entire thing and it fits nicely in the front of the bed. If I'm leaving it in place and just rolling it up I've added a couple of rubber grommets to either side of the tailgate bar to keep the pole from walking itself out of the sleeve. 1.jpg 2.jpg

Is this pin supposed to be on the bottom hole? Seems like excessive downward pressure on the bracket when I cinch it down to get it buttoned up

The pin comes in the middle slot from the get go. This is adjustable up or down on how tight the softtop fits.

I dropped mine to the bottom hole, but ultimately put it back in the middle, for a better fit. It is tight, but works and looks right.

edit: the pin location might vary a little by application.

Hey guys, I’ve been going through this thread and I can’t find a post about a fab company selling a hilift jack brackets that’s let’s the softtopper close. I’ve seen custom made ones but nothing a fab shop makes that I can order.

There isn't enough room to make that work. Unless the jack sits out past the wheel well.

Get with @EatSleepTacos . If I recall correctly, He fab'd up some mounts to the side bed rails to mount his Hi-lift. Think He might have some pix in here somewhere.
