So I know this has been asked in the thread but can’t seem to find it. My rails slightly bend inwards. It’s normal right? Anyone have them sitting straight? Almost seems like the clamps won’t allow it to sit right with the angle they’re tightened down at

What are you guys with long beds measuring from front of bed to outside of the topper rolled up? Seems like it’s kinda bigger then I thought . Anyone get dirt bikes in with the tailgate up?

Decided to run the Softopper safari style for the weekend. Didn't leave it up on the freeway, but it was good to go on the trail and up to 45 or so MPH on pavement.

That being said, the bar just wants to slowly wiggle it's way out of its home, and since I don't want that thing bouncing around in the bed, here's my recommended workaround. Four or five wraps of duct tape was enough to keep it in place, and it's always covered when down or rolled up, so you'll never notice it.

Good idea on the fly. I bought a few rubber grommets from home Depot that fits snuggly on there

Thats a classy solution. I've got a couple little hose clamps keeping it in place.

It's fine. Mine do the same thing so I contacted Softopper, here's their reply:
It is ok to have a slight tilt to your bedrails. Please ensure the clamp is nesting on the flange correctly. The foot of the clamp should be nesting flush against the truck. If you have troubles with this, loosen the bolts on the clamps and place the clamp as it should be flush with the truck, then tighten them back up. Also, please ensure the bedrails are inward enough. There should be NO gap at all between the clamp and the truck bedrail.

    Just some stuff...
I don't know about you guys, but where I live it's a fricken warzone. Some bits and pieces of the mortars and sky rockets going off over head are landing on the lawn still glowing. Got kind of worried so I went out and folded up my softopper. Not sure if any of that stuff would burn a hole in it, but I don't wanna find out. Lol!!

Edit: Happy Fourth everybody!!! Stay safe!!!

Right or wrong that's about where I have mine sitting also. Haven't had any issues for the year it's been installed.

Mines sitting that way too. Happier with it closer to the cab than not

    Hi,

Do you have and profile pics of your softopper. Trying to finalize a color choice and there aren't many Blue Tacomas with softopper pics.

    Thank you!
