Is it me or do the short bed toppers seem a little taller?

I appreciate the review. Corpus Christi is incredibly windy so it sounds like I might not want one of these if it's gonna give me problems.

No flaps or panels flying open when secured correctly? We experience 30+mph crosswinds on a daily basis.

No issues with wind with me either. I bought 15' of industrial strength Velcro and applied it to the tail gate and front of the bed. Works great!

My post intentions meant to display the fact that these things can withstand very very very strong winds. Hurricane forces might not even topple them.

For the folks who camp under your softopper (or Supertop, from other maker), how do you get in and out?

Then for everyday use, do you open the back a bit for, say, a couple of grocery bags?

I am shamelessly still sitting on a local good deal, wondering...

Just open the window and step over the tailgate! They have zippers on the inside also. I think it works great.

I open up the rear window on my Supertop and leave it flipped open.
Had an awning shop make up a panel with a screen window, and we just crawl under it to get in. Helps to keep the dust out too.

I just unzip the back and drop the tail gate and hop on in. Shut the tailgate behind me and zip her back up. I haven't had any issues camping in mine yet, stays dry, and i have enough room to stretch out comfortably. I also feel pretty secure sleeping in there as well. I've never really been too comfortable sleeping on the ground even with a tent. Being elevated and being inside my means of transportation gives me a sense of comfort. Not to mention i sleep with a Sig Sauer within reach. Call me paranoid.

    Thanks.
If it gets cold I can drop the rear window and close the tailgate.
Works good to keep the bugs out too. I sprayed it down with bug spray and none came past.

I can reach and lift the tailgate from a lying position from the inside. Zip the windows from inside.

When it was warmer I left the tailgate down for some airflow.

Has anyone seen a Softopper in white? I know they have them but though 30 pages of this thread I haven't seen or read of one…

    Thanks,

It's going on a white 2014 Tundra. It will spend most of its life folded down or hanging in the garage. I need a cover only for the rare occasions we travel… I like the idea of white-on-white but would like to see one first…

Just ordered one in black. Turns out that white has been discontinued.

Choices are much easier when they're limited…

Have this on my Chevy since Aug '11. They do get dirty. Haven't tried to really scrub it, but it doesn't get hot inside, and it's light inside. White is still on their website so I emailed them to ask if white is still available. I'll post their response. Someone asked me about the absence of the 3rd brake light that hard shells have. Never been harassed about it though.
