I tried magnets at first but haven't had anything holding down the flap in 9 months. No issues except the rare gale-force wind days

I had a magnetic bumper "sticker" on a Honda Odyssey for a good long time, like years in one spot. When I pulled it up, it took some paint with it. Maybe with the opening and closing of the window on a fairly regular basis that wouldn't be an issue, but wondering if any of the magnet people have had any issues with paint.

I would not put anything including a magnet that would sit on top of modern paint. Then again that is just me...

That being said my Softopper is held down by a magnet but the bed cap on the Tacoma is an aftermarket steel version with powder coating.

3 years and no paint issues. I remove my back window in the summer season and the magnet strip I referenced is just enough magnet to hold the window from flapping. Not super strong like the rare earth magnets. Definitely better than the Velcro sticker on the paint and I'm guessing the flapping window with no attachment at all would likely result in some kind of paint scratching. Pick your poison I guess.

Ordered on 9/19 and just got it today. I spoke with them a week ago and they weren't sure it would ship prior to late Nov. due to a missed materials shipment but here I am just in time for hunting season, stoked!

I ordered 9/23 so 6 weeks ago at this point knowing it would take time and their site says 3-5. No updates or change in shipping status yet. I emailed 8 dyas ago. The auto email response says "please allow up to a week for a response". I get that the supply chain is jacked up but a tiny bit of communication goes a long way. Email blast and let everyone who ordered know there are delays or you didn't get your fabric or aluminum shipment. "Most" people understand those things. Maybe stop taking orders for a week or two to catch things back up? Tons of better options than processing payments and going radio silent with a website that doesn't update orders correctly lol. Oh well. The wait continues.

What are you all using to clean the window plastic? I've tried a bunch of products, and it just never seems to get clean enough to see through clearly. I'm about ready to give abrasives a go at this point.

I’ve never had any luck cleaning it enough to see clearly through it. But I’m lazy and flippant about vanity truck care. I just roll it up most of the time, and then put it down when I want to keep the dust and rain out.

Just install the Vantop rear view/ dash cam combo and seeing through the rear window will no longer be necessary. I'd be rear view blind without it everytime I go off pavement.

it gets the clinging dirt off that doesn’t come off wish a standard wash… i’ve never really “scrubbed” at it much though out of fear of scratching or clouding the vinyl, so it’s usually still a bit streaky looking out from in… works pretty good though, i can see out fine and mine’s the extra dark tint.

There are some good soft top jeep cleaning videos on youtube. One guy uses only virgin microfiber on his windows and blots them clean lol.

Finally was able to get mine on. Love it, just need to throw some interior lighting on and third brake light.

Also, if I'm buying new weatherstrips for the bottom, what size do I need from Amazon?

1" wide. Thickness, I suppose, is up to you. I just put 1x7/16 but I think it's 1x1/4

Mine is finally on it's way. The tracking number finally updated with delivery timing. 7 weeks. Hopefully it'll show up this weekend.

My intent is to hit the metal with a scotch bright pad and then give it a coat of black bedliner spray.
