Mine cracked trying to prop it on top of it self which caused a crease, it was also -9 out. I camped in it a few weeks ago, also cold out and put a small propane heater in the back of the truck while i was doing stuff and before i set up the bed. That seemed to make it warm enough but i also just made a point to not fold or roll it. just unzipped it and stuck my hand out to open the tailgate

Hey you posted this a while ago, but what toolbox do you have, and is it secured to the bed?
I just installed my topper and my side bed boxes had to be removed, so I’m looking for alternatives.

I'm not the OP but that is just a Rubbermaid Action Packer Storage Bin. It looks like he just has a tension bar at the bottle that keeps it from sliding rearward.

Yes this is correct, it’s an action packer and the bar keeps it from sliding. Having the bed mat also does a lot but I wanted it secured for wheeling. It doesn’t move at all with being loaded and having the bar holding it in.

Well, after about 9 months I’m officially back on team Softopper! Thanks @dhillr for coming in clutch with the deal.

Nice truck! Thanks for the pics! I was just starting to search for Super White with Bronze wheels and Tan Softoppers! Trying to decide on this or black rims and Softopper for myself. I also want the UpTop Overland TRUSS rack, so maybe black would be better.

Picked up a used hockey net for my son who plays and it even came with the backstops so we don't mess up the fence. But damn... This wouldn't have been possible with a hard shell. The versatility of the softopper is unmatched. Also .. it was a bummer having to remove my reflectix panels from the roofline inside and also my cargo netting. Don't think I'm going to put that stuff back up there unless I plan to camp in the really cold. Diminishes the flexibility of this setup. Similar to how I want a raised bed sleeping platform and drawers... But don't want to lose my entire truck bed. Also similar to how I wanted a bed rack over the softopper, but then you lose the ability to have an open bed when you need it in a pinch (unless you wanna do some work). Sometimes kss is the best

Dang, 351 pages, and to think I was about to take a lashing by creating a separate thread about white with black toppers...If you have a white truck with a black softtopper, post and tag me in your best pic of it please and thank you! I'm considering that or a more permanent solution that is white.

Welp i realized that most racks or platform do not easily mount to HMO bars that go over our soft tops. They would if 1 9/16 square u bolts were easier to find.. Getting my rhino rack pioneer platform installed on Tuesday by 4WP. Looks like the best solution is drilling straight through the platform and the bars and just doing a bolt, some washers, and a nut at the end. Will post photos of it finished

Does anyone know where I can find the fabric that softopper uses? Any similar product will work. I'm looking to add a simple extension for sleeping with the tailgate down.

I'm looking to be a bit more incognito. The idea is to extend the rear window flap using the velcro strip down to the end of the tailgate. A little more low profile without advertising that I'm definitely spending the night at a location. Scenario: I drive into a popular national park for a hike the following morning. I want to just pull into any common lot and take a nap without doing an entire set up and having the local rangers kicking me out. I'm not much of a planner, so reserving a campsite months ahead of time doesn't work for me. I want to be able to pull into a corner and take a nap without being too loud.

Contact Softopper. They've been good in the past at sending out fabric if you have a plan.

not sure where you are located but you can download maps for BLM land that generally all have free camping. The tent add on is super simple and easy. i dont own one but ive used one and it takes all of 5-10 minutes to put up and break down.

Anyone have suggestions for cleaning up a "dirty" softtopper & making it look new?

Getting a used one, and would like to clean it up & bring some color back. Suggestions?
