Hey, when you wash your truck do you use something separate for the softopper vinyl, or just your normal carwash soap? Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing along with if anybody uses a protectant. I saw that Chemical Guys and 303 make a cleaner/ protectant kit.

Know quality doesn't always suffer but little disappointing. Guess "North American made"...but can't say much since all the trucks are made down there. Wonder if BestStop moved it down there when they bought em'?

Had asked them about material for another project and was told no dice due to the production moving elsewhere but wouldn't say, guess we know.

Corporate disingenuous. Like craftsman tools are made in China but gets put in the case in the US so made in the US is what it says. A buddy flies cargo around the world. Regularly takes half a million pounds of salmon from China to Alaska. That way they can say Alaskan smoked salmon.

I'd be willing to bet that it meets enough criteria to be made in the USA. The FTC has stringent rules about it. Even if the canvas is made in Mexico, there's enough other stuff from the US to qualify. And on top of that, if it's good it doesn't matter where it comes from. Might be priced out of US supply chain and have to move production to keep prices inline. Or we're wrong. It's all speculation at this point. Japanese truck made in Mexico and all.

At the car wash I don’t use anything different. I spray the topper down with soap and water as I do the rest of the truck.

However twice a year I will use a Chemical Guys cleaner and a 303 protectant and it really makes the topper pop. I bought my Softopper used and it came with a practically new (never used) boot. After cleaning the topper and adding the protectant, it looks newer than the boot cover that has never seen the light of day.

I have a 3rd gen, Inferno. Leaning heavily toward the tan since it will be dirty a significant amount of the time. Wondering if the black is hotter?

Awesome rig. I was waffling between black or tan on my'17 Inferno. When my wife saw this image, she said that "looks pretty awesome." After months of research, and years of topper envy, I finally pulled the trigger on a black SofTopper five minutes after seeing your truck, also in snow country! This photo is just after buying in 2018 with 3500 miles on her.

A lot of us have put reflective insulation in the ceiling. Makes a big difference here in GA.
(I looked and I don't have a good photo to insert. I'm in CO and truck is in GA right now, so not getting a photo today...)

Spent Memorial Day in the San Juans outside Ouray. Blew a tire on the way up, but hey, at least there aren't any people here.

Has anyone figured out a way to seal the corners of a Softopper where it meets the top of the bed rails? There are huge gaps there and although the material covers the gap I imagine a lot of water get through there

Are you talking between the bottom of the softtopper rail and top of the truck’s bed rail? I removed the original seal and replaced it with a generic 1”x1” foam seal from ACE Hardware. I haven’t had any issues with it leaking. I have also heard of others adding a silicone bead to help seal this as well.

The one spot I have issues with water getting into the bed is at the front corners. This is where the front window velcro’s to the main canvas body, just above the top of the truck bed. I haven’t been too concerned as there isn’t a lot of water coming in and I don’t have anything back there that I’m worried about getting wet. When I finally take it camping I plan to stuff these holes with a foam block or something similar.

I'm talking about the corners where the softops bottom rail ends. I pulled the fabric up to get the picture but I imagine even with the fabric pull down water would run along the bed cap, under the fabric and into the bed. I'm not referring to the gap between the header rail and the side of the bed, I know thats a common leak point and needs to be sealed

On my tundra, I glued down a piece of foam sit pad with Goop adhesive on all 4 corners. I also siliconed the outside of the rails to keep water from seeping under it.
