Is anyone in the Oregon/Washington area interested in trading me a tan softopper for my charcoal grey one? Nothing is wrong with it I just prefer the desert color. More photos available upon request, we can meet halfway or I can drive to you if needed.
I have a 6' bed 1st gen (I believe the 1st/2nd gen softtoppers are interchangeable).

    Check build thread!
Has anyone in Canada ordered either a Softtopper or bestop recently? If so, what has the lead time been like so far?

Which mosquito net are you using that fits over the whole thing? How are you securing it down! Gonna try this

I bought Coghlan's nets on Amazon. They work well and honestly you can just let them hang or stuff the excess over the edge. It's a box shape and almost perfect to go over the softop with the sides rolled up.

Looking at these bars too - are those the 45in plates? Also did you get the mounts on the bars are did you attach the plates a different way?

I do have the mounts on the bars, but I didnt get the plates from HMO. They're from a local metal supply. Cut and drilled as needed. Looking back at my notes it's 11g. Steel 33"x8". Quite a bit cheaper going that route and I wasn't handcuffed into their offered sizes.

Thanks! Nice looking setup, these seem much more subtle than all of the other racks.

Maybe add some velcro and attach where the rear window does?

It looks like it attaches to tubing, so I wonder if you couldn’t rig some PVC to the back clips. The shade looks fairly light and secured by rope

    Here's a demo I found...

I like that you don't have to use guy lines for this, but of course you'd want to if there's any wind. I love how much shade the Slumberjack puts out but sometimes I don't wanna deal with guy lines and stakes.

After more research I'm not going that route. Going to have to Jimmy rig something myself. I want to be able to make shade in a parking lot

Can someone explain or show me how Softoppers standard clamps work? For those who don’t have the rails on the side, how exactly is the topper attached??

Anybody know what kind of weatherstripping Softopper uses for the rails? I know it is 1" wide, but do not know the thickness.
Have to replace mine as some of it came off.

There isn't necessarily a wrong answer as long as the width is the same. I'm using thicker stuff but works the same
