$300 is quite the score for a topper less than a year old. Congrats on the purchase!

Was able to fit the Softopper from the Nissan I traded in. Not a perfect fit, sits a little high, but seems like it will work just fine. Glad I don’t need to worry about selling/trying to buy new one.

You might be able to bring the front down a little bit by loosening the rear straps then snugging down the front straps. Looks good either way!

Yeah, the extra height is actually nice. I wouldn't mind an extra couple inches of headroom in mine.

Yeah, I tried adjusting those as best I could, but this was about as low as I could make it without also screwing up the snaps. Seems like bringing it lower caused that first snap to be a bit off for a tight fit. I think the frame setup is just slightly different. But close enough really, and I don’t think it is too bad like this.

Also like essjay mentioned a little more headroom ain’t bad.

No picture, and it wasn’t even on a Tacoma, but I saw a Ram with 8’ bed and SoftTopper the other day. But the SoftTopper was fitted backwards. Is that a thing?

The material will stretch out and shrink on its own, pending on how old it is. When I unbutton my topper I usually have to pull on it and stretch it back to where I had it in order to re-button it up. I imagine if you made incremental changes you would not cause any damage to the snaps.

Here's a pic since I rarely see MGM with tan. I think the color combo is fantastic especially when the truck is muddy. Surprised to not see many people running this color combo

I ended up with a black Softopper, but if I were to go a different route it would be tan. For the MGM I think it’s really the only way to go. The black is too dark, and the grey is too light compared to the rest of the truck.

I’ve asked this question before about this setup, never had an answer but I’ll try again. How easy is it to load a couple or even three bikes on the pad with the SoftTopper? Do you fold the top forward a bit then reattach it or lower and then raise the tailgate, or just maneuver the bikes in through the gap? Thanks.

I've done this many times. Fold the softopper back a bit, load the bikes with the tailgate up, put the softopper back in place. Easiest way.

    Hey Softopperites -

I need 2 levels of storage in the bed, so envisioning cross bars and a Loadwarrior/Megawarrior type cargo rack inside a Softopper.

Is it safe to assume that bed bars such as the C4 Fab ones that bolt into the track with a support that sits on the bed-sides can work with a Softopper?

All of the racks that form a cage around a Softopper raise the level at which the Softopper sits on the bed - and so would for example the C4 Fab bars. I take it this up to 1/4" additional height on the Softopper doesn't affect aerodynamics much?

And does anyone know from experience if a Megawarrior sitting on top of bed bars (that rest on the bedsides) would fit underneath a Softopper and still permit it to be folded up and down?

Someone here had a Skinny Warrior on bed bars, but I can't find that post at the moment...

I would think that the C4 Fab bars would work, but they would prevent you from being able to fold the topper down.

Right - because the topper folded up rests partly in the bed or between the bed sides. Can anyone with a 5' box measure the point at which the topper assembly when folded down sits below the top of the bed?

Also - what ever happened to those KB Voodoo bars that mounted to the factory bed rail cleats?

Those would probably be best for my application - any know of an alternative like the old KB Voodoo offering?

So I made my own bars with some 1 inch box tubing and some track mounts (I think they are for lights or something). But it all fits under the soft topper and gives me a basket on one side and a ski/fishing rod rack on the other.

The KB bars were discontinued awhile back and its hard to find them for a halfway decent price.
