Mine don't tilt. Try to move the rails themselves towards the center of the bedrail tops (more to the outside). Make the j-hooks tilt out, instead of the rails tilting in. Don't over torque them.

    Maybe ????

(I installed my topper in warm weather. No issues at all, six years later.)

I see you don’t use the pannel window between the bed and the cab of truck.

Have you noticed more dust going in the bed of the truck or no noticeable difference?

Speed limit here in Hawaii doesn’t exceed 60, I’ve taken it to 65mph and it was fine.
I chose softop over bestop due to the height. I needed it to be as tight to the cab height as possible

Zero issues at NY highway speeds (75-80mph) with gusting winds, with a rack over my Softopper that’s cab height to be level with my roof rack.

    Softopper brand topper

They are the same company. Looks are subjective. Same material, same idea, different execution. I personally don't like the look of the bestop but I like some of the things about it.

Ya I like the set up of the bestow, but the softopper is better, just wish it had options for vinyl side windows.

Hello all, just acquired a '23 Tacoma. It's been a few years but I'm back in one.

I am looking at getting a Softopper along with one of the bed racks (upTOP, Datin, etc) that can fit around them. Does anyone know if any of these bed racks would be flush with a non-OEM cab roof rack (Prinsu, RCI, etc)? This is more for my own symmetrical appeal.

Idk about the others, but Uptop is the only adjustable one that I know of. You can adjust the height to your liking

Awesome. Thanks for the info. That sounds like it would work just fine. I'm still torn between this setup or going for a Leer camper shell. Decisions, decisions.

honestly if you don't want a mid-rise and are ok with standard height shell, softopper is a great setup. but i'm wanting more headroom for sleeping and hanging out in my 6ft bed, so i'm looking for a decent used midrise shell. other than that, the softopper has been fantastic after 7 years of full-time use.

I'm glad to hear they can stand the test of time. I'm leaning more towards this since it's a less permanent option but can still be just as functional. Thanks for the input!

    heck yeah man
I used to have a 1st Gen with a snugtop. As great as it was, whenever I needed to remove it, I needed help. Until I built a camper hoist in the garage but that still left the camper hanging from my ceiling lol

The softtop collapses and I can store it elsewhere, taking up less room. Best part about it all, takes me 5 minutes to setup, and uninstall
