Ordered a tan softopper for my white SR. Super excited for it :bananadance:

From what I've seen so far in this thread, a lot of people like to use 303 on the exterior. My question is, since it's canvas, what is the best seam sealer on the inside or is it not needed?

Comes with some & think they recommend doing where the Buckle parts & pices are sewn in. I did along all seam’s on inside, & so far so good. Will probably do visual inspection this spring & reapply

Pretty sure new Softoppers come with seam sealer in the box, like @AK Dudeman said. You still have to apply it on the inside though. If not, this is the seam sealer that Softopper sells on thier site:

The Softopper I got about 6 months ago didn’t come with seam sealer.

No seam sealer in the box unfortunately. Got it installed in about 2 hours.

Man... stretching that canvas in cool weather SUCKS lol

I opted not to put the velcro on the paint of the tailgate. Instead, I put it at the end of the black plastic cap. Clean look and will not ruin the paint over time like we have seen for others in this thread.

The topper itself is pushed pretty far forward for this to work. My mounting bars are almost even with the very front of the bed.

    Best color combo right there!

I ran mine with no velcro for a year or two, then I put on a metal tailgate reinforcement and added the velcro to that. Since then about half the adhesive for the velcro has failed. IMO, the velcro is a waste and doesn't really add much benefit. I never had any problems with mine just loose.

Probably - I'll leave the velcro for now to help with dust

Tubular bed bars that go over ST look good and match armor

for folks with it do they serve a purpose besides RTT if you don’t have one?

how is gear otherwise mounted to maximize storage and utilize the bars? Is that even their purpose or does that require welding on panels?

is this why tube racks are cheaper than other racks that already have that?

for example KBvoodoo, modular, with different panels available that are flat with holes ready to mount gear

Tube racks are a little cheaper because the construction is much more simple, with much less material, and almost no laser cutting on sheet material (if any).

If a bare bones rack just for carrying a tent is your goal, a tubular rack might be the way to go.

In terms of aesthetics, we have a new rack coming out that is a lot more "3D" looking than most other racks.

I just ordered one myself, about how long was the wait time for shipping? I haven’t gotten a tracking number from them yet, but when I check my order number from the confirmation email it says “awaiting shipment”.

It was a couple days before I got shipping notification and then it was delivered within the week.

Wow I hope it’s the same for me! I’ve seen others say they’ve waited months in the past.

I jus got off Phone wit Softoppers Dude, when was ordering 3rd Break Light & Barrage’n him with bunch of questions. I did ask bout seam sealer & he said not putting it in anymore cause not really needed. Cause doesn't leak & most people didn’t use it & it was Cost Savin thing for them.. & they won’t do “custom” work. Dang it.

I'm ordering some seam sealer. It does leak at the seams in heavy rains.
