Can anyone point me to a good replacement gasket material? something that might be available at a hardware/auto parts store, or even Amazon?

Have heard "3m weatherseal" here but have no idea on which thickness, and they have tons of different product lines.

I just asked Softopper what size thier bedrail weather stripping was because I need to replace mine. They use 1” by 1/4” stripping.

I lay my portable/foldable one on top when needed but not while driving. I suppose I could but I'd be nervous about wind lifting it up

    2 questions

    1. how’s everyone utilize bed bars to store gear and not an RTT? Do you have to weld brackets to put expensive Sherpa roof rack on it? Which doesn’t add side panels
or Just get something like KBvoodoo that is flat panels

    2. has anyone made their ST “livable” like a shell?
I lived in a shell for a short period of time. It was fine.
    Don’t know if ST compares…

intended use case is cross country trip pull over each night and sleep

what I mean is, with a shell you have vented windows to breathe. But Reflectix to block sun and heat. Not ST.
And shell has two windows one each side for even airflow.

Quickest thing I’m thinking to try is put on my rear mesh window and route a curtain there. To try and get airflow but with privacy.
If I pull over on the trip to sleep at night not trying to have random people just seeing right through it

has anyone put a tire carrier on a Softopper rack

saw one on a Tacoma on IG but forgot username

    IMG_5522.jpg

Similar to this but home made
Maybe that’s the only way, to DIY weld?

    IMG_5523.jpg IMG_5524.jpg

basically back of the rack held a spare
as to be higher clearance than a swingout sticking out from bumper dragging on angle

    Found it

Went to the snow a couple weeks ago… opened up the back to throw the snowboards in the back… and the back window cracked! so after the trip I’ve been driving with it in safari mode. IMG_3505.jpg IMG_3773.jpg IMG_3911.jpg

Seeing how many people have had cracked windows I'm glad I went with the FasTop soft topper. I've opened my window at -10f with no issues

Any suggestions for seams that are tearing?

I picked up a used topper, and didn't realize that the threading was basically rotten on many areas of the topper.

Worst case scenario I can get a big needle and some industrial thread, and go over everything by hand... But that seems like a massive PITA.
