Anyone know of a dealers for softoppers in Canada (either online or brick and mortar stores)? Or do I need to order them off the American website?

It looks like a light/faded gray in the photo and I want to go black. I did a google search and came up across a Jeep forum where a few guys were asking about painting their soft tops.. A couple answered saying they had great results going from khaki to black with a vinyl specific spray paint. I don't know though; it`s a lot of cash to spend on something to potentially mess up!

Another member had me check this out:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fs-bestop-supertop-tacoma-5-and-6-beds.318376/

It`s a little different from the Soft Topper (has windows) but might be an option for you.

If this is helpful, my front window fabric was "painted" black with canvas paint according to the guy I bought it from. It looks pretty good, although I ordered a replacement front in tan. Look a few posts up, you can see it in my pic

It was actually really easy with the applicator that it came with and as far as keeping off the windows it wasn't bad because as long as it had not dried it would wipe off with a damp rag. So far its holding up good but its only been a couple weeks but no bleeding or fading so far.

No problemo. Yeah they are awesome and if you take care of it they will last a good while. The 2 previous owners beat this thing to shit but for 100 bucks i cant complain lol.

HEY I may or may not have been one of said vultures! Just trying to give you some money, nothing wrong with that :D

I did contact the company and inquired about the use of spray paint; They said it probably was`t a great idea and that it would most likely run off after a hard rinse. I may just have to buy new.. Can`t believe they don`t offer any sort of local or TW discount.

That doesn`t look too bad. Did you do multiple coats? I'd definitely try it if I got the topper for only $100

    Hey guys,
Getting ready to order mine this week but had a few questions. I'm mainly getting this softopper so I can have my dogs in the back of my truck. Did anybody order the mesh panels so there is some air flow for the dogs? Is it necessary? I'm thinking it might get pretty hot in the back without the mesh panels. Anybody have any experience with this?

    Thanks!

Softopper is going on my new 2015 Sport.

I bought a bestop for my dogs, windows all come out and I used a cargo net for the back, very happy with that choice.

Do you have any pics of the Bestop? Why do you like it more than the softop?

I just bought a softtopper from him, he decided to go Bestop. Maybe he will chime in

I myself went with the softtopper. I'm not a fan of the windows on the side and also what seems to be a hump right in the middle of the Bestop. IMG_1498_892a821fc271f5b7f372265ac7c70f3553ac33c3.jpg [IMG]

That truck looks great with the softopper. I'm thinking I want it over the Bestop now. Do you ever have dogs in the back? That's the only thing I'm worried about on longer rides camping.

I don't have dogs. Maybe you should get the mesh rear panel for it. If not, you can always roll up the back window for them assuming they won't jump out
