Hi - I know soft top is not a secure option but has anyone had problems with theft or safety in their supertops?

Anyone on on here rocking a Blue truck with tan? would love to see the combo to decide on my color choice? Or does anyone have some photosgop skills that might be able to help me out?

I never had anything removed/stolen out of the back of my truck. Although my dogs were usually in the back, LOL! Depending on the style you get - with or without windows - less Windows less visibility. Having the soft topper I'm sure slowed the possibility/potential of theft. But I have since removed and sold mine because of my dogs - just not a safe boundary to keep them in...

Thanks. What did you replace it with - a hard shell? I have a dog too but she only weighs 10 lbs, not much protection haha! I'm more worried about personal safety since I plan to camp in it. I do "carry" but don't want a reason to use it. Was just curious...probably has a lot to do with where I park! I am thinking of getting a solar powered motion light for when I'm camping alone.

    Yes, a hard shell.
Yah I'd say where you are camping and where you park would be critical to your safety. We camp (boondock) a lot but we have a small RV/trailer. I also carry concealed but thankfully haven't had to use it, better safe than sorry.

PS: the motion light sounds like a good idea but not really because every wild animal will make it light up (keeping you awake and panicked all night long) and it will affect your night vision so you would be better off keeping it dark - at least that's my opinion.

Good point to consider. I have a motion detector that sounds an alarm, will have to play around with it. I doubt any alarm is better than my dog! I live in So Cal so not many animals around here sadly.

Does anyone here have the @KB Voodoo side rail caps and a Softopper? I'm wondering if the topper fits better on these than the stock composite rail caps.

Where the hell are you camping? The Bronx? With a giant sign on your truck that says "Fuck Black People"?

Or are you talking about bears? either way I think you are being a bit dramatic lol.

I thought he did I'm trying to find it again. He also has your tailgate cap he used to magnetize the topper back to the tailgate. I want to do this as well.

If you feel like you need to sleep behind locked doors while camping, either camping is just not for you or you should camp somewhere else.

The same shit everyone else has.
Ive designed a "lock" for mine to make it more secure. Granted, the top is fabric so It can easily be cut open if wanted but all 6 zippers on mine "lock". It gives me a little peace of mind and should deter anyone from unzipping it and snooping around.

I can snap some picks if youre interested.

quick question about bestop or softopper... Which is easier to COMPLETELY remove. I will be using this maybe once every few months for camping trips

15 minutes??? If you leave the bed rails on (which I recommend) my Softopper can be removed in a minute or two. Two rows of snaps, three snaps at the front, and two pins. If you wanted the rails off it would add another minute oe two. Just four clamps. I assume it's much the same for a Besttop.
