It rained pretty heavy this morning while I had it up and it did fine. Someone on a JK forum mentioned spraying it with some never wet to make sure it doesn't saturate

No, I installed three snaps inside the bed instead of velcro for the interior flap. The exterior flap between the cab and bed just hangs there. And it never moves.

Really interested in getting a Softopper for my DCLB 3rd gen. I haven't read back through all 79 pages ( only the last 15 so far) of posts but can do you still have full use of the OEM bed rails with the Softopper?

Also is there any drilling that has to be done for installation? From what I have read so far that doesn't seem to be the case? Looks like you don't modify the bed in any way? Can anyone with one on a 3rd gen confirm the above?

Thanks in advance for any clarification.

On my 2nd gen I have full use of the factory bed rails with one small caveat. The rail clamps Softopper supplied fit inside the rail. I need to occasionally remove a Softopper clamp if I want to reorganize how I have my tool mounts set up with tee-slot nuts. It isn't a big deal at all and is completely not an issue with the stock Toyota tie downs.

I am getting on board with this soft top next spring. Maybe sooner. It's too useful not too have.

Thanks for the information and clarification. . I agree doesn't sound like too big a deal. As long as I have use of the cleats and bed rails that is all that matters to me.

Do any of you guys have utility lights out back? Trying to figure out how to mount something. I've seen them mounted on the bed rails, but that wouldn't do much good with the softopper sides buttoned down. I've also seen them mounted under the bumper, but would like to avoid smashing them on rocks.

    Any suggestions?

Cut some holes and install a pair of flush mount flood pattern pods in the bumper.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg I had my topper made by a member on this site. I've had it a few years and it's held up great.

Any more info on that topper? I checked your build thread and followed the link for the old group buy but it looks like the thread was deleted and the member name no longer exists.

The member who made them had set up a few gb's on the toppers. Long story short, a few members got shafted. Either didn't get their toppers or the toppers didn't fit.

He also made a 1st gen topper and sold it to 2nd gen members. It didn't fit 2nd gens at all.

Edie209(snoboard as well I think) was his TW handle.

My experience was perfect. It's exactly what I wanted.

Thanks. Kind of a shame, from the pictures in your build, looks like a solid product.

Stock flexin, but I love my soft topper, so many benefits especially when hauling very large items that don't fit in it. Like a tree...
