How much lift do you need to fit 265/70/17’s on -38 offset?

That offset wont clear without a CMC, regardless of lift.

I mean that's assuming you are actually flexing the suspension. A buddy of mine with -38 needed his CMC to be redone a second time because of rubbing off-road with such a low offset.

I rubbed hard core with -10 mm wheels with 265/70/17 tires.

Here's two quick pics to show the bit of poke I get though.

So my dad ordered the wrong offset scs ray 10’s and got -38. He’s going to put a 2.5” lift will he be ok for driving around town?

I got the SCS Stealth 6, 17" wheel with -10 and drove it for a day before I had to do some heat gunning the liners and trimming. Every turn it was a bad rub, in reverse even more so, took a few days of heat gunning to get it where I don't rub anymore in forward or reverse. He may have to CMC to even get around town with the -38, I know I was starting to consider it if I couldn't fix it myself.

I relocated the front of the fender liner and trimmed the fender at an angle. In the rear of the fender liner near the body mount there is a bump that sticks out. I heat gunned it and pushed it in. No hardcore modification necessary.20200609_180846.jpg
Lol, as you can see my wheels WERE bronze. Had them powder coated black after an unfortunate carwash experience.

Have you guys found that as the wheels were switched out from the OEM to these negative offset wheels have made the front end very twitchy. What I mean by that is it seems to me that the steering wheel tends to move right/left over crappy roads, just feels much more sensitive - and I’m running a Zero Offset wheel... Thanks for your input.

2.5” level, SCS Ray 10’s with -38 offset and 265/65/17. No rubbing at all but definitely would have if he stayed with the 265/70’s. Thanks for all the help guys the old man was stressed out but now is really happy.

Hey all, so I think I managed to get my hands on some SCS Ray 10s 16” -12. I’ve been reading for days and it seems people are getting mixed results with rubbing. I plan to go 265/75/16 KO2s. Only thing I’d really love to avoid for now is a CMC. Anyone have experience with this specific setup on a stock TRDOR suspension?

6” RC lift with coilovers. 33x12.5 tires on 20x12 wheels with a -44 offset. Some plastic trimming and a cab mount chop. No rubbing whatsoever even at full lock. I don’t off road, so I’m not sure if anything would rub when articulating.

Might have been able to clear without the cab mount chop if I upgraded the UCA’s.

Do you need a lift to fit -12mm offset? Looking into getting some -13mm offset but don't know if my 2" leveling kit will clear them? If you guys can let me know please and thanks!

Do you have any rubbing on road or offroading? I have a sr5 4x4 stock suspension with a 2" leveling spacer kit, I've found some American racing wheels that I'm really interested in buying but they have a -13mm offset and well before I buy, I'll like to know if they'll fit perfectly without a bigger lift. And would they fit with any tire? Because right after buying those wheels I plan on buying some k02 265/75/r16
