What brand truck cap is that? Did you have any issues with sag and if so, what did you do about it?

    Thanks!

ARE MX. No issues with sag, if you mean suspension.

I really, really wish they still made Regular Cab tacos. Such perfect lines, perfect balance. I want mine to last forever.

And in this area a 3rd gen would be just about due for a new frame again which is totally not worth paying for .

If you have a side profile picture of your truck that shows your cap, I’d love to see it.

I still haven’t figured out if I wanna go the bedrack route or the camper shell route. I may never make up my mind.

I love having a cap. Dry storage, secure, keeps bed clean, dog can ride back there, pretty much a ladder tack with a roof rack, can sleep back there. Its just a contractor cap so its not the prettiest, roof rack helps tho. I wouldnt get anything but flip up windows. Makes loading and unloading the bed really easy.

I appreciate the side pic! And I’m with you on the virtues of having a cap. The only negative is the inability to haul taller items — then again, that’s what a trailer is for.

I thought I justified not getting a cap because hauling kayaks/surfboards with thule xsporter racks and mtbs with fork mounts............but I hardly ever surf or use the kayaks and have the hitch goal post thing that would work even with the cap for kayaks and have hitch rack for 2 bikes and most of the time I haul 1 bike I take front wheel off and lay it on it's side under the lid on back out of sight anyway.........I think I might be moving closer to getting one. Really do like how RC looks with one. Racks on cap would be good for surfboards or the cargo box I have for extra space if needed. Dangit, off to FS thread to search one out.....040 SW ones are kinda easy to score too. And the camping thing too sleeping in hardsided weather proof off the ground place plus I have an awning thing that could connect to side or back to have porch.............and I'm done justifying not having one it seems. This place I swear...the wallet just spreads her folds at the drop of a thread, lol................

I’ve been waiting for A.R.E. to make their “Overland” shell for the regular cabs, but if they haven’t already then they probably never will.

I believe (someone correct me if I’m wrong) that backs of the regular cabs are a different slope than the access and double cabs, so those caps won’t fit our trucks.

yes & no. they dont for but they can work. they just wont line up exactly. the gap between the the cab & cap wont be perfect. I've see reg cab caps on access & dbl cans before & vise versa.

I appreciate the info. That aligns with what I remember reading before.
