Toytec 3” bilsteins on 4 corners rear aal. 285/70/17 nitto trail grappler on venom Rex 17x9 -12 offset
285 70 17 nitto trail grapps on venom Rex 17x9 with -12 offset. I think it is the offset that gives it “the look”. Even with the flares having an extra inch of coverage the tires are still a little proud of the flares. The lift is Toytec 3 front 2 inch aal in the rear.

I recently went to a AAL in the rear and I have the WORST wheel hop in sand and snow now. Was that your experience?

I had violent wheel hop in snow sometimes, it was awful. Ive never had my truck in sand before though so I can't comment on that. I will say however that I don't have the hopping issue now that I have a more compliant leaf pack, and I also noticed the difference on the road when taking off from a dead stop.. I feel the power transition to the wheels is more smooth than before. The garbage stock clutch plays a little nicer now.

Thank you! I just have bilstein 5100s front and rear as well as Hellwigs Ez helper leaf spring. Have a hitch winch receiver in front all wired up with a fuse panel and master solenoid under the hood. I have icon delta ucas, a custom bed management system and the wheels are pro comp!

After many years of complacency........took doors and mirrors apart and manually pigtailed and ran wiring to blinker wiring in kick panel so the blinkers on the 2012 sport side mirrors are now more than decoration. For my next trick have gone into full consideration mode to wire up the power function to the switch decorating the dash. No existing harnesses.....RC fun, lol.

So I’ve got a sound that I can’t quick figure out where it’s coming from or why it’s happening.

It sounds like a rattling type of noise that I think may be coming from the transmission. I ONLY hear this when I’m in 5th gear coasting around 60/65 or above. If I’m in 5th and applying any amount of throttle I don’t hear anything. If I’m in any other gear or neutral and costing or applying throttle then I don’t hear anything.

Thoughts? I don’t have any major modifications other than 3rd gen OR suspension with MD Dekar leaf springs.

Yep sounds exactly like my cat 4 months before it totally shit the bed. It'll keep getting worse until it all fails and then you'll have no power. Your nearest dealership will be able to take care of this if it is your cat

Well no shit that’s interesting what exactly causes it to rattle only when costing at highway speeds?

So I should just ask the service tech to take care of the “cat converter recall”?

I had mine done before it had any symptoms. Zero cost to me.

Idk, perfect resonancy at that frequency or something. If you put it off like I did it'll start doing it at all speeds, especially when idling. I had no idea what the problem was with mine, just figured a heat shield got loose and was rattling down there. I was having fun in some snow drifts and the next day it started showing symptoms. Figured I bent something down there. Nope!!

They will do it all at no cost to you.

Perfect thanks guys definitely helpful. Glad it’s not anything with the transmission that’s what had me worried haha.

Well last weekend I went out on a quick trail run and the truck seemed a little underpowered but maybe it had to do with the cat.

So a little update on that rattle issue, I took the truck into Toyota today for them to take a look at the CAT or transmission. Before I took it in I was looking at the maintenance history and it looks like the previous owner did the recall back in 2015. Figured it wouldn't hurt to have them poke around anyway.

I just went and picked it up and looks like its got a clean bill of health. The CAT is working the way it should, the computer isn't throwing any codes, and the heat shield is in good shape. So the only other thing I could think of was the transmission particularly the throwout bearing. Apparently, that's not the problem as they compared my transmission to a "known good one" and mine operates better than the good one. So the noise I'm hearing is just normal wear and tear according to Toyota, but not surprised to hear that I guess we'll see what happens:bananadead:

Also, I'm an idiot and I just realized that there two single cab treads....

Considering the LCE header also. How much of a performance difference did you realize?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. There wasn’t any sort of amazing performance difference after I got the LCE Header. There was an increase in exhaust sound, or resonance, above 3,000 rpm, but it didn’t turn my truck into a rocket ship. The biggest difference was ironically very subtle. It just made the truck more driveable.

For example, no more down shifting on steep highway upgrades to maintain speed — and in that regard, at least to me, that’s huge.
So the difference wasn’t immense, but after having it on for a little over a year I couldn’t go back. It didn’t shave any time off of 0-60mph, but it did directly help the truck maintain speed better. Hope that answer was helpful.
