looks great, where is the wiring run for that fan? My quilted top seems kinda glued on can’t imagine how you could run it back behind? Also how will you close it? Just pull the fan from it’s base each time?

I used the wiring for the light that was there and removed the light. The fan folds flat against the roof and can close no problem mattress, bedding, pillows and all

Edit: I used the bracket for the light to mount the fan to so no drilling into the roof

Thanks for the video. I have the same CVT Mt. Hood RTT. I have a short bed & was wondering which Alucab load bars & feet did you get? The low profile ones or regular? I’m worried about my tent hitting the XM “shark fin” antenna. Thanks in advance

Quick question b/c it looks like you probably know the answer. I got my interior lights fired up today for the first time and the initial color they came on with was Red. I couldn't quickly see how you can change to white, etc.

Just ordered the explorer canopy from OK4WD, they had 1 in stock. Only $200 for shipping compared to $550 to get my RTT from CVT. Reading thru this thread & others, they seem to be good enough to meet my needs and use. Sure one day I might switch to RLD or RSI, but our camping season is really short and I didn't want to wait until the fall to get a canopy. I mentioned TW to Jon at OK4WD, said I saw them mentioned on here, but they didn't sound interested TW. Heck, Jon said he owns a Taco and has the canopy camper.

I’ve had mine for over 2 years. There were a few issues that I resolved and moved on.

There will always be newer/cooler stuff but your gonna have a rad setup and a summer of fun times.

Gonna be more than good enough, stay positive bud.

Thanks for the video! I’m waiting on my Alu-Cab to put my Mt Hood on it. Sorry if you’ve answered already, are you using the standard height feet for the crossbars?

I asked Jon at OK4WD about the sliding windows, he said the supplier for them quit making them so Alu-Cab is looking for another supplier.

Do you have a link for that fan? My wife and I have been trying to figure out how to mount one and that is a great idea.

Thanks. I am going to try to fabricate a bracket to have the light and a fan. I do not anticipate us having both running at the same time, and even if we do, I bought either will draw enough power to matter.

Shouldn't have any trouble running at same time I wouldn't think. The wire size for the light and fan are the same I believe and tiny like 20-22 gauge or something. Of course the side map lights are up there and if needed I will hang a battery powered LED light. Haven't really used the fan in super hot weather but should do ok in moving the air around when there is no breeze. It's no Max Air vent but should be a good enough compromise for now.

Another productive weekend. The wife got some seat cushions made. I am hesitant to post my little build but I wanted to show what a budget build is like. Lived out of totes and bungee cords for 9 months before building the storage bins. It’s not high end at all. Had a weekend with my 80 year old Dad building the bins and the wife knocked out the cushions. Nothing hinged just some simple tops with cleats and 1”x2” cedar with 1/4” oak to keep it super light. Will live with it for this season and make some changes as needed.
