Let's see those Alu-cab setups

Washed it today, with a pressure washer (I’m a former detailer).

The alu cab itself is so sealed up it’s not even funny. Not a drop of water came in from the cap itself.

Unfortunately the Tacoma bed is made of many pieces so there will be some water that makes it in. As long as you have a bed mat nothing is going to get wet (the water will run down under it).

I doubt during normal rain you will see more than a few drops. It’s incredibly well built.

 

This is great to hear! I’m willing to accept the bed leaking in areas I can fix, but definitely not willing to accept spending 4K for a black strainer. Haha thanks for the info! I have the factory tonneau now which does not seal well at all. More than just drips below the bed mat.

 

Looks like they improved all the door seals on the contour from your pictures.

Can you take a picture of the window at the front of the canopy? Does it have a sliding window? Was curious if they would do that making it available to access through the cab of the truck.

 

Ya the sliding windows are at the front and on each side. They can only be opened from the inside. They are small though, the only thing they facilitate is cleaning the windows. Will take pics.

 

Looking at this alu-cab as well, it looks to be higher than the truck cab. Could you please let us know how much higher it is?

It's lower than the shark fin antenna at it's tallest point, or very close... It gets deceiving as the Alu Cab is "square" and the cab on the truck is slightly rounded. So the edges of the cab (by the edge of the rear door) are a little lower than the shell.

The 1 available on that December order was a ALUC2-SB-TT16-B-W, which is the Tacoma Short Bed with side windows.

just an FYI for y'all. I'm not sure if I got that one, or if mine will be in the January order. I just placed my order on 11/18, so I could have missed that December one.
