I have the 840S. I also bought the longer wiring for the rear camera and picked up a harness kit to allow all-time powering of the unit to permit the "Parking Monitor" to operate.

For sure. I put mine on by myself by unboxing it on the ground, getting under it, and turtle walking it first up onto a make-shift cinder block step and then stepping up onto the tailgate. Don't really recommend doing it that way but it's certainly a route you can take if you trust yourself. It's not super heavy in a squat position, just awkward to maneuver.

EDIT: YO I DONE GOOFED. I have the contour canopy, not the full camper lmao. No way anyone is squat walking that puppy.

Lol or just dumb on my part. At one point I was very close to tumbling over the side of the truck when I got a little off kilter.

EDIT: I DONE GOOFED. I have the contour canopy, not the full camper lmao. No way anyone is squat walking that puppy.

I'm putting this on my list to research. I'd like a wireless system but this looks nice.

Definitely a bit risky. Didn't you need a forklift to unload the camper from the delivery truck? That's how my delivery worked at least, when I had it delivered to a friends business that is located near me.

If you have the Parking Monitor setup it will record and save the incident for you to access later.

I e been gathering the materials … I’ll be doing the tailgate stripping too. Is there a list of the end all be all things to do. I’d like to prep as best as I can for the install

It depends on how detailed you want to get.

With a tailgate, I'd simply do what is recommended in the video, as the tailgate is a massive 'weak point' when it comes to dust intrusion, and an area that I did not personally have to deal with due to having no tailgate with my Canopy Camper. I should have clarified that in my previous post, my bad.

I have found dust/water to enter the camper via the following locations (I've not included the common places already discussed):

    - The interface between the metal fender and the composite bed. This occurs along each side of the bed, horizontally. It is below the bed rail cover, but above the T-track.
    - Through the bolts that hold the T-track to the composite bed.
    - The vertical interface between the rear of the composite bed and the metal structure at the back of the bed.
    - The cubbies, both sides if you have them.
    - The inverter cover and housing in the rear cubby.
    - The two rear most bolts that secure the bed to the frame.

I think that covers it all, IIRC. A lot of these would be a waste of time IMO if you still have a tailgate.

I personally used Sikaflex to deal with everything on my setup. My camper is on the truck, and I do not plan to ever remove it.

cool thank you I really appreciate it. Ill be using Sikaflex, and the foil tape and go through the rest of the list. Id rather be over detailed and not have to deal with it later if it became an issue.

Sounds good to me. I've never had the opportunity to see if the head wall top plate allowed water or dust intrusion, as I already had my water tank installed prior to my first dust filled trip, but if you're there I'd Sikaflex that too. I doubt it gets anything, but might as well.
