i've seen pictures of people running other brand bars on an alucab also. if you wanted to mix and match im sure you can find the exact length you're looking for. front runner may be an option.

i ordered the bars with my shell hoping to get them right before a trip. if i had more time, i would have looked at some different options.

I hear ya, but I wasnt gonna take a chance with the getting old wood blade i had and i didnt want to mess the paint up as least as possible - plus i cut metals and such in additional to woods so had another need.

I just spent the last three days making my own roof rack for my new contour canopy, I am stoked with the result.
I decided to go with a DIY rack so I could make it flush with my Prinsu and so I could save some money. I also mounted two Baja Design rock lights to act as camp scene lights, as well as "stop tailgating" lights. They are wired both to a custom overhead switch panel and the Meso Customs shift knob.

This is my first time posting on the forums here so let me know if my image is messed up or anything.

    Hey @Sam_Florida Man

How you have mounted the rock lights looks amazing. They will work great for some camp lights. Definitely post some photos when you get a change to use them!

    Best,

I have 1450 load bars, I bought them with my top and awning that I drove 6 hours to get so when they installed the top I had them mount the awning. They had that sucker flapping in the wind, way out there. I ran it like that for a while, then ended up modifying the alucab support brackets to tighten it up to the shell. The alucab low profile load bar mounts work.

going to pull my awning for the season and paint the brackets. Of note, be careful if you have windows, depending on placement you can set yourself up for a bad day with the load bar and side doors.

Just a bunch of old crap
Even though I have an AluCab tent on my custom bed rack, and my ShadowAwn is mounted directly to the tent, I'm glad I went with the 1450 bars anyways. The extra length was handy for mounting other things to, like some undermounted ditch lights for extra illumination. And I have plans for other devices that will mount to that extra rail space.

Yeah better to have a little extra room than not enough for other things
Curious, does anyone who has cupboards mounted on both sides have a sec to possible measure the distance between them . As in what is the usable space between them .

Anyone have the GP factor vent in their canopy camper? Wondering how well it actually works for reducing condensation.

Ran into the same issue, a similar light based on what I found was the Jokon ZHBL 24-2, ok4wd can ship a replacement (ALUC-LED-HL) for a near equivalent cost compared to this ebay listing

I had to email/chat them to get the part. Paid around $106 after taxes

EDIT: I received the light from ok4wd, I can confirm that the JOKON light above is the exact part. The model # on the light itself matches

Has anyone replaced the gas struts with a shorter version? If yes, what did you use?

I have an awning on one side and the door awkwardly contorts against the awning when open.

Oddly enough, I went the other way. They shipped mine with a short version for the rear door. This kept the rear at a 90 degree angle vs. where it is supposed to be. They dropped shipped the correct size. I imagine you could request the shorter strut and swap them out. I don't know part numbers or anything, but I bet an Alu-Cab dealer would.

I haven't replaced the struts, but I thought there were 3 mounting holes on the bottom and you could move it up or down to adjust how far it opens

Never got around to posting since I got the canopy installed. Since then I’ve built out the interior to be comfortable enough for shorter trips. I’ve already used it for one season of camping and climbing trips and it’s preformed great. Maybe in another 5 years I’ll upgrade to the full contour camper if I need more space.
