Does anyone know how I can take care of this?

I havent had this alucab long and decided to look at wiring up the bed lights. I noticed the rear one was pointing straight down and holding the wires tight against the metal edge. It looks like the heat shrink wore through to bare wire. Its extremely tight space and I dont know how to access this area.

There is another brand (hammersafelocks)that is said to require no modifications- product looks cleaner too. I got 1 reply email asking my location and no response since. I’ll request an update in a week but figured I’d mention it

Tbh, that would likely fall in the cracks. I don’t come here as often as once did and their 1st reply came after my original 2 maybe 3 weeks later. My point in mentioning was for you or others to give it a try or visit their website if interested (just another option/product I had seen), the operation looked more local and not quite setup for international (yet maybe). They had 3 dealers listed and tried reaching out but no reply but 1 trying to get me to come in if local. Maybe if they get more interest outside it would be easier to buy directly.

Mine is the same, it’s just the light was pointed down and holding the wire taught against the metal. I can’t figure out how to access it and it’s such a short section it’s hard to work with

Glad I did all the sika flex before and spent the time going through the bed prepping everything !

Shake down this weekend . Been driving around town but need to run it through the forest roads . I am beyond stoked. I didn't have any of the issues with tight fitting the hardware like a few others have had . A few of the smaller nuts for the lights were loose . But that’s all. I did find that I don’t like using the carriage bolts for the roof rack though. There isn’t as much foot print and surface area as I’d like … in place of them, I used the heavy duty t slot bolts from leitner . Huge improvement and much more confidence building. Wiring was a little tricky as I wanted it super clean. I removed the rivets and then used Oz4wd stix lights in place of them. Turns out, you can use the sika flex to carefully run a bead along the top corner, and carefully press the wire into and it leaves a very clean, and very well attached main wire from front to back. Then just used some Deutsch connectors and I was good to go. One thing I really wanted to make sure I could do, was run the canopy off of a jackery, or other portable power. Blue sea systems dual input switch works perfectly and each input has its own fuse. There’s a few things and details I’m working on, but super stoked I went with the Alu cab.

Very clean install! I like the leitner bolts, would you happen to have a part number or link for the ones you used?

I added two wire pass through ports today. Easy install , just take time to measure twice , cut once . I won’t lie, drilling in to the topper was a little uncomfortable lol. Also, the stick on foam is crazy sticky and a little tricky to get on without it trying to stick to the protruding part of the base. for reference, I measured 9.5 inches from the back and centered it. Make sure to pre drill. These scanstrut low profile cable seals are perfect set up for anyone wanting to pass wires through to a tent , or in my case, my rear chase lights.
used a little Sika flex around the post that pops though the whole.
Best part is these are nice low profile . The others I have seen on some videos were much taller and I wanted something that looked like it could have come with the contour. Comes with a few different size plugs for different cables . Nice way to do a clean install
