Can anyone who has a Contour Canopy with windows comment on if the passenger side window makes any difference in blindspot visibility? (a picture would be even better)

Considering setting one up with no window on the driver side, to have a shelf/cubby for easy access to gear from the outside door, but having a window on the passenger side for better road visibility...

VHB Tape is a good option if you don't want to drill.

There is no visibility from the drivers seat out those windows. Maybe if a simi truck was passing you but otherwise you can’t see out them. I use them mostly for air in the rear.

I did a fair amount of research online and youtube when the Contour was fairly new. I remember coming across someone being honest about their rear window visibility and saying your really can't see much of anything out of those windows. I mean.. They will offer "slightly" more than no window, but that angle isn't great anyway. Maybe if you also got rid of your rear seat headrests? Perhaps? I like the look, less complicated with fewer failure points, and slightly more security from prying eyes. I think they both look good though.

I have a wolf box review mirror on my bench for install - perhaps not the side view the question is referring to, but I cannot wait to get this installed. Plan to mount the rear camera on an alu cab cross bar i have mounted as far back as possible on the roof canopy rails.

cant wait for this and food for thought for you all.

Speaking of which anyone else mount up a wolf box set up?

curious on cable length to get the camera mounted all the way back there?

I have a few of their sizes and only want to run it once but don't want too much excess.

    appreciate any insights.

Anyone here have a prinsu rack mounted to their Contour Canopy? If anyone could share their insight with pictures, it would be greatly appreciated, if even possible. Have tried searching everywhere with no luck.

Thanks guys, probably going to go with no side windows then and just keep it simple. Maybe I could pick up some side mirrors with a wider angle. The truck also has BSM so not too big of a deal

    SOLD

I have a used Dickinson P9000 LPG fireplace and the GP Factor mounting kit, specific to the Alu-Cab Canopy Camper, for sale.

The fireplace has ~250 hours of use on it, and is in excellent shape. It functions just as intended, and has no damage of issues. I am selling it because I am moving away from LPG in my camper and thus won't have any fuel to run this thing anymore.

Since it was previously installed in my camper, I have already cut the exhaust pipe and modified and fitted the chimney cap per GP Factors instructions, which was difficult to do. All of the mounting hardware is present, and I left more wiring attached to the fan motor than Dickinson originally gave me.

Please find photos of the unit and bracket after removal from the camper:

Here are two photos of the fireplace and chimney installed on my camper (Note; if you have the rear molle panels you have to cut a chunk out of one for the chimney):

    [IMG]HSWOR - Day 7 - 125 by Michael Rickerd, on Flickr

[IMG]Fireplace! by Michael Rickerd, on Flickr

I paid exactly $1,645.57 for these two items, and would like to list them for sale for $1,300 usd shipped anywhere in the contiguous US.

At this point in time I am not interested in splitting up the fireplace and the mounting bracket. I'd like to sell them together.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Loving the positive pressure vent on the Contour. This is that lovely fine gravel dust. there is zero inside the bed, even around the tailgate.

how is that hitch extension? the bars on my bikes are within an inch of the back window when i use my 1up pulled as far out as i can with the lock still in the hitch. i was thinking of getting one of those swingarms.

though i did drive down some rough roads by crested butte with my bike on the hitch and no glass cracked. definitely left a big mark in the bottom of the rack going over some rocks though

It’s the 1up extension and it’s super solid. I ended up getting a Kuat Pivot after seeing a guy that had one this weekend (overnight Amazon shipping ftw). The extension serves its purpose but I was immediately annoyed while loading my bed and hitting my shins on the rack constantly.

57kgs / 125lbs is too heavy for the bed of a Tacoma? Its aluminum, weighs less than other fiberglass / steel caps

I’d love to see how you have the Dometic faucet on the cabinet. Been wanting to do something similar. Also, what molle panels are those?

Agreed. They're literally less than half the weight of fiberglass caps. AFAIK Alucab canopies are the lightest option in the Tacoma space.

I’d install some bed support brackets with a cap, but outside of that? Send it.

Gfc is also really light. Could probably be lighter if you don't get windows.

On a side note, anyone with the alucab cross bars know if the groove goes on the front or the back? There's one on top and bottom, but one of one side too

You got me curious, so I just checked both on their manufacturer respective sites. GFC claims 135lbs while Alu-Cab claims 125lbs. Alu-Cab with windows is apparently only 136, too.

That's near as makes no difference in practice, IMO. But it's nice to have the numbers.

My mistake. I was talking about the full Alu-Cab canopy camper. I must’ve misread the post that I had responded to.

dont think it matters but for where you may want to use that side grove to mount something like chase lights for example.

I had my rear one facing back for that hope one day but ended up flipping it as I wanted the bar as back as far as it could go the way the Alu can mounts work to carrry a canoe.

as a side note I have the lowest profile / height mounting brackets that mount to the cross bars on the side track being referred to.
