I didn’t want to run the propane line permanent. It’s on quick connects.
Things change all the time with my build it seems and I wanted to keep it simple by attaching the hose when I need the heater and remove it when I don’t.
I didn’t want to run a clunky hose/regulator setup on the outside of my truck on the daily and also didn’t want to run a splitter for my cook partner stove that runs off the same propane bottle. Which also leads me to your next question. I already have propane for the cook stove so I might as well use it for heat too. I don’t want to tote around and mess with stinking diesel fuel either.
The P9000 is a prefect fit with the GP Factor mount and hardly adds weight to the truck or takes up any valuable space. It’s also very fuel efficient and safe as well. I mean, what could be worst than a boat fire at sea? Haha.

thats actually one reason I ask. As a wood (and extremely flammable) boat-owner - propane and gasoline are super frowned upon, with diesel being very preferable for applications (stove, heater, engine, water heaters, etc). I've actually got plenty of anxiety even when I see propane bottles or tanks on trailers. I'm assuming you've had a very good experience with propane?

11 days away from my own canopy camper(not that I'm counting) Dropped my truck off at Asheville vehicle outfitters last Friday. They're installing the alucab with dickerson Fireplace, and a few electrical items plus OME suspension, ECSG bearing, SPC UCA's,

They let me take their demo rig out for a couple days.
Have to say, the canopy camper is an absolute game changer. Absolutely can't wait.

I haven’t had any accidents, fires or explosions caused by propane appliances in my time if that’s what you’re asking.
If there is any sort of leak it’s easily smelled.
I also consider myself pretty well trained with pressurized gasses. I work on Industrial Anhydrous Ammonia systems for a living.

Dude, you win. End of the game. Tomorrow morning I'll burn my shit to the ground in honor of your truck. Ahahahahahhaha. It's just magnificent. I'm a Ohio guy myself, born down in Nelsonville, lived in Logan, Lancaster, Marion and Columbus. Have not been back in decades due to Military and other interest. Where do you do your overlanding?

hello all alu-cab peeps I am so torn between this and a RSI. BUT there is a alu-cab locally here, but there is limited information about the fitment since their website says its "universal" so here is my question. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/pts/d/seattle-alu-cab-canopy-ft-bed-2nd-gen/7278629508.html guy has one locally here and I am trying to find any information if it will fit on my 3rd gen long bed. I have heard mix information from various people. what do you all think>

Yes... many. I have the 2nd gen. Apparently they fixed it on the 3rd Gen. Didn’t realize how bad the fitment would be... Its still a bad ass shell though. Putting on my tent today

Picked up my truck from Asheville Vehicle outfitters this weekend.
Incrediblely happy with the ACCC. Worked well on a quick trip through North Carolina.

How did other people seal around the rear filler panels? I have massive gaps on the sides where the tailgate used to be, letting in a significant amount of dust/water

Not sure if you sealed or not but dust and water will blow up under the plastic bed rails on the side. I didn’t realize until I had my canopy during the first snow storm.

Couple shots of my Alu-Cab Khaya equipped Taco.

Khaya is fully loaded, 200W solar, indoor stove and sink, diesel heater, full kitchen setup, full size table and chairs, 270 degree awning, outdoor shower with enclosure, everything we could want in a camper and still pretty good Offroad. Headed out to Kentucky in a few weeks, and out west for a month this summer. Good times.

Side note after owning a GFC I’ll say this Alu-Cab blows it away, also it’s awesome to be able to carry our boats with us and still use the camper. Doesn’t effect the lifting at all.

What’s happening brother. Been too long. Since I checked out of IG I feel like I don’t keep up with you anymore. Hope all’s well, maybe we can get together this summer for a beer or two. Stay safe.

I had previously sealed under the bed rails when I had a diamond back cover so that's all tight.

Main issue I'm having is where the tailgate gate used to be, next to the filter plates

Yeah, I suppose I would be a little upset with this/installer if those areas were not filled in with something. Without pics I am not 100% sure, but I think you mean between the filler panel & taillight area correct?

My installer filled these gaps with weather stripping of some sort on both sides. I would say it was about 90% blocked off, but it definitely wasn't perfect. I still had to do some patch work with 3M Window Weld and silicone to completely block these off and have yet to really test it. I just kept shutting myself in the camper and looking for anywhere I saw daylight. I am very surprised though they didn't make an attempt to seal in these gaps at all. That seems a little half assed. Without the weather stripping my shop put in there as a base, I am not sure how in the hell you would seal this up now that things are installed.
