So it has been a while since I have posted here. My truck has gone through some .. updates since I last posted a pic of it. Hope you all like it! My wife does and helps me put money towards it so we can go to more hard to reach places!! She burns gas like crazy too!!

I’m thinking about doing a rear seat delete like this and I like how your lady is involved in your truck life too. I had a Nissan Xterra before I picked up my 3rd Gen and I really liked having the interior cargo area of an suv but needed a truck for truck things. A few months ago I told my girl I wanted to dump the backseats and got a cocked eyebrow, “What if we want to take friends places?” I know she meant “her friends” because I only have one friend and he’s got a Jeep. Anyway, we just did a couple day trip to a cabin and she’s now completely sold on the rear seat delete. After lugging food, two bows, a hammock and all her clothes in the back seat she now sees the need for more interior cargo room. Anyway, feel free to post a tutorial or why you did what you did with your seats. (I know there might be ten threads on here but I’m trying to make friends.).

 

Hey man thanks for the remarks, I didn't really take any real pictures per say just one showing under the "floor". My wife and I decided to get rid of the bakc seats for two reasons. One was because we needed more storage for our trips and we never had anyone in the back seats, and two and more importantly we have two dogs that need some space so we did it mainly for that reason, so they have a place to lay and sleep on long trips and arent confined to a tight space.

The Mount for the deck is simply three pieces of bent aluminum brackets from another project that didnt workout and 3 pieces of 2x4 bolted into the rear seat mounting areas. The plywood sheet was bolted/screwed into those mounts and that's about it. I did a hinged cut out over the undersea storage bins to use those and then bought the cheapest carpet I could find to cover the plywood with. I still have to do the back wall though though. I'll try and find some pics of that project and posts the later.

EDIT: Found it! You can see the 2x4s where the backs of the seats mount and the aluminum brackets at the front where the seat hinges mount. Works for what I need!
