My old neighbor used to have a poker game every Friday night. He also had a Doberman that was an absolute sweetheart. One Friday night he had to work late, but all the usual Poker players showed up anyway. The house was unlocked. The dog knew everybody, and she let them all in the house, unchallenged. Some watch dog.

They are funny. We house sat for someone with a Doberman. Dobie tries to sneak up on to the bed to sleep between me and the wife. Like we're not going to notice those 4 long legs poking you or the bed sinking down as she climbs in.
