When I was looking at Tacomas I saw a 1st gen 2001-2004 with 13k miles on it and it look brand new. It was around $20,000! It was at a dealership and I sat it in, but couldn't see myself paying that much for a 1st gen.

My current ride is a 2000 SR5 XC with 73,000 miles on it. I bought it in 2011 with 35,000 miles on it to replace my black 2000 SR5 XC that Toyota bought back. I have another Tacoma I bought to replace the current red one but can't quite bring myself to put it on the road. It's a 2000 SR5 TRD in Imperial Jade Mica with only 529 miles on it. It was sideswiped when it was 2 weeks old and hasn't been on the road since. It was in the second owners barn until last spring when I bought it. I haven't decided yet. It would be a great truck to use, but a 17 year old truck with 529 miles doesn't stay that way long if you drive it.

Holy shit. I thought you took a pic of the trip odometer by mistake at first, lol.

I picked mine up last year with 24k on it but you sir have found the unicorn of all unicorns.

You're right, once you start driving it, the miles come on quickly. Mine had 24,500 on it when I bought it 15 months ago...now it's at 52k. The mpg's aren't great but the smiles per mile are :D

Keep in mind though, vehicles are meant to be driven and if they just sit (for 17 or so years especially) it could need quite a bit of work to get it road worthy. I learned a lesson or two about that even with mine with 24k on it.

You should start taking it to car and truck shows and showing it. Maybe replace some of the rusting OEM parts. Its a time capsule and its value will only go up in the coming years.

I"m all ears, what can be wrong with low miles , share your story, besides of oil an fluids by moving it a least 10 consecutive miles weekly so tires and mechanism work , what else could be wrong, mine was drove 3,700 miles per year. I had changed all fluids so that"s why ask so you may tell us your story..

Timing belt is a big one for the 3.4, most people go off the mileage but in rare cases like these it's good to replace it as a precautionary measure even if it's only got a few miles on it. I had issues with my clutch and shifter bushing even with so few miles on both. Had to replace the LBJs too and my A/C also needed some work done. All new fluids (including servicing the u-joints) had to be done as the grease in them didn't hold up well from sitting in place for so long. I'm actually looking at possibly having to replace my u-joints as I have a driveshaft clunk that won't go away despite re-greasing them religiously.

A lot of the little squeaks, clunks and vibrations my truck had when I first got it last year seemed to fade away though once I started driving it every day and putting on the miles, kind of like when you sit in one spot for too long and once you start to move your joints ache a bit and you feel sluggish at first. Once you get going though you're back to normal, lol. Something like that.
