Stumbled into the LGS at the right time. Someone sold them this Henry.
They had it for a couple years but never used it. Decided to get rid
of it hoping someone would buy it and use it.

Okay... I’ll play. Here’s his & hers NRL22 rifles. Vudoo V-22 matching my PRS stick, and a tricked out Ruger 10/22; both tack drivers.

I've read through all 20 pages and haven't seen one 22 like mine. Ruger 10/22 with the Mannlicher stock. My family has a thing for this style, it's mostly my dad's fault. So much fun to shoot.

Don't see many of these: Marlin 101 marketed as a Sears 103 circa 1960, single shot bolt action 22 S,L, LR. I think I paid $10 for it and rode home with it across the handle bars of my bicycle. You won't see that today in SoCal. It took another month of paper route earnings to buy the J.C. Higgins/Sears 4x scope, $12. It was more than the rifle. Amazingly accurate and didn't need to touch the scope adjustment after 30 years in the cabinet.

Wow! That's in great shape. Kudos for taking care of it all these years.

I have Steven's that came from Sears & Roebucks. Probably about that era. It was my dad's when he was a teenager. It was in pretty rough shape after sitting in the garage for 50 yrs. After talking to a few gunsmiths, sadly it could not be blued again so I cleaned it up and applied some sealant to prevent any more degradation. Thinking about coating it with a satin black paint. The stock was in great shape.

I mis-stated that. They could blue it but the barrel is so pitted that it'll still look crappy. I had read on another site that a few guys have had success with high temp BBQ pit paint. They just apply several light coats and it kind of smooths out. It would not look like an antique, but it would definitely spruce it up. Just thinking about it right now.

Thanks for the tip. Do you think using 0000 steel wool would be the best way to get it cleaned up? I would hate to get to rough with it. BTW, it still shoots well, just looks like hell. Thanks.

Here is my Savage FVSR. I used to hate this gun and could not hit anything with it. I put the Boyd's stock on last year and now it is my favorite gun. With CCI standard velocity ammo it is far more accurate than I am. The BDC in the Nikon prostaff scope is right on. Next step will probably be a can. I used to say I was just not good with magnified optics because I couldn't put rounds where I wanted with this or my 30-06 model 70. The stock made all the difference in the world.IMG_20190122_083032.jpg

Nice shooters, I like the chassis builds a lot.

I put this together yesterday. Ruger 10/22 heavy barrel, with Volquartsen Bolt handle, firing pin, extractor, a new bolt release, and buffer pin upgrades. Harris Bipod with podloc, Dlask Arms 30 MOA rail, Sightron STAC series 3-16x42, in a new Victor Company TITAN 10/22 stock that Brownells shipped to Canada.

Need to have some work done on my father's old Remington Model 12 that was his family's (might have been his mother's or uncle's) during the depression and used often for sourcing food. Can't wait to get it working, I have a new stock ready to put on but I'm better at working on Tacoma's than restoring classic rifles (anyone know any good shops in Oregon?).

What are you looking to do with it, a full resto, or just bring it back to shooter status?
The model 12 (and the model 121 that followed it) were simple, reliable, and fun little pumps. I have a 121 that was my Father's, and will eventually restore it to give to my nephew.

Working status to start, and the stock needs to be mounted/finished. Frankly I would be surprised if it’ll need a lot of work to function.
