I just built my son an AR .22. I got a Chiappa .22 upper for $140.00, got rid of everything but the barrel and bolt. Bought an Anderson Upper and lower. I will never use Anderson LPK again, had to replace the take down catches front and back and change out the take down pins they were out of spec. Free floated the rail, bought cheap iron sights and it runs like a raped ape. I figure if the barrel and bolt screw up I can just replace them. Also I have the option, when my son gets older, I can just swap out barrel and bolt to 5.56. I will take pictures later tonight. My son thinks it is awesome, he is 6.

Here are some of my .22lr rifles:

First some old Remington Nylon 66's:
    _vcH3g1QXJlAYKVwrZbRzWufNKCSjaI4thgViSP0_10b3a9f59308f07cf018dde5d18ffab5c243c4a1.jpg
The Nylon 66 on top is one that my dad bought back in 1970. It's my first rifle and has a lot of sentimental value to me. The bottom rifle I found in a gun shop several years ago. It was cheap (and slightly bubba'd) so I bought it to clean up and to add to my collection. Now if I could only find a green Nylon 66 then I'd have a complete set...

Next, a Browning BL22 lever gun:
    OtIGAqycc29KFJPb4A44iQbVf3-XqN6fIYzFA5u4_56a504fba99fbccdbe8cf52b03b688a4e85bfb2b.jpg

Lastly, a couple of customized Ruger 10-22's:
    oa7x1icxwAdX2v6sVSeuFVpcl4QyBGeec6xToJNH_52f785190407c3134f4c1a4e78b83045a5293abc.jpg

Both Rugers have been upgraded with KIDD parts. The bottom rifle is actually a 10-22 takedown wearing an, er, Frankensteined Hogue "takedown" stock. :bananadance:

Winchester 190 tube feed semi auto. Will handle S, L, LR, even if mixed. Rarely jams, and then only on S.

Bought in fall of 1967 with my tip money and paycheck from my first week as a bag boy at the local grocery (so not very much $)

    Rapidly approaching 50 years old.

Even more interesting is the sporting goods/army surplus store I bought it at is still in business, still owned by the same family. That may be more rare than the rifle...........

Got this Marlin XT-22 RZ today, put a nikon prostaff rimfire 3-9x40 scope on it and went and shot it.
After 10 rounds It's pretty close, I shot the cap off of a 2 liter at 30 yards with some cheap remington ammo.

What is the purpose of the rubber grommet like accessory on your barrel?

It's call barrel deresonator it's purpose is to control barrel vibrations while the bullet travel through the barrel and this help increase the accuracy and minimize bullets fly

Thanks for the info. I figured it had something to do with vibration dampening. Very nice rifle, btw.
