When you install the bumper, yes. Cut below the headlights and bottom of the grill support, pretty much the rest below that is discarded.

Bummer. I wish there was a bumper out there that was a straight bolt on and you didn't have to cut. Removing is no problem, I am just not a fan of cutting when its new still.

I know C4 has their overland series that is a complete replacement/no cut bumper. Looks pretty good too.

I do get the idea of not cutting while new, but since I lifted it and got rid of most of the stock parts I figured it was not going back stock anyway.

Yeah I definitely agree. I think since the front end on the 3rd gen is so tall it is difficult to make a sleek bumper like the 2nd gens have. With that being said though, there are still some nice bumpers out there. Once I lift it I will be in the same boat as you, I am just trying to enjoy it stock and see what it is capable of before dumping the $$$$ into it like I did my 2nd gen.

Have you had any thoughts about a rear bumper?

I have thought about one, but I am not sure what I want yet. There are a ton of options out there for sure.

Maybe some day. The front is far down the list for me. Especially with my sliders on now. Front bumper for me is more so can use a hihglift, but with the sliders I can now lift a front tire if needed.

anyone seen a rear bumper with steps in the outboard corners? I always liked that about my GMC but haven't seen one for the taco yet? Makes in and out of the bed super easy

Which sliders did you go with? I have the more solid sliders that came with the truck from Toyota. They are okay, but I definitely want to get some real ones at some point for the same reason. I had some from BAMF on my 2nd gen and I really liked them.
Not yet.... I am sure someone can make them, but the reason I believe no one has yet is b/c most of the bumpers out there are for off-road / trail purposes. With taht in mind, having the step on corner would probably decrease the departure angle.
Got it. Thanks. On a different note; there's no way in hell I would ever pay that much for a truck like that. But I know that wasn't your purpose of posting it here lol

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
Will 285s fit in the stock spare location? I like the swing out from CBI, but I need to haul with the tailgate down sometimes.

Fits, may just need to move the exhaust pipe over a bit. You can also remove the swingout I think.

Hey @jfry75 I love that ARB bumper. Looks very nice. I'm considering getting one but I have a question....

In your pic there is very minimal gap compared to this one in the picture. Most of the ones I see online also have a large gap. Did you just cut yours closers to the bumper?

    If not, what gives?

    Thanks!

I cut them close, but I also think the bumper being the same color as the truck makes the gap look wider than it is.

OK so would it be possible to cut the bumper close enough to eliminate that gap completely?
