I'm looking for an aftermarket manual shit knob with a matching transfercase J-pattern shift knob (if possible). I wanna see what others members use/recommend before I go and buy something that either doesn't feel right or doesn't look right in my interior. Let's see those sexy shifters!

I really like the oem knobs. I had an aftermarket one when I bought my truck, it went straight in the trash and I put a stock one back on.

My other car has a white hurst cue ball looking knob, but its probably not fitting for a Tacoma.

debated over which old thread to resurrect. I just bought a shift knob from lathewerks. celica (same thread and pitch as most toyota, m12 x 1.25).

copolymer tear drop. I had one on a previous civic and loved the shape and feel of the material. looks like he also make knobs out of other stuff too.

I've been running a weighted ball for a couple of years. It's a little hot in the summer and cold in the winter but I like the feel of it. 450grams.

How much does this weigh compared to stock? Did you get the brass insert? Thanks

Sorry, I didn't weigh the knobs for a comparison. The difference in weight is negligible. The polymer is a relatively light material.

The knob has a metal insert that allows you to orient the engraving when installing. It does not have a brass insert.

If someone wanted a heavier knob, I guess they could order one of the metal shifters.

I wanted a knob that was cool in the sun and was comfortable to shift. A heavier knob sort of numbs the shifting action, if that makes sense, and I prefer the mechanical feel of the transmission.
