Hell yea, appreciate it. I always thought the idea of putting a Chinook camper on a tacoma or 1st gen tundra would be a sweet way to travel around The States

That is some good research skills. It is indeed the same truck. IG or FB posts from sept'18 to nov '18.

Full time job, full time school, no good place to park it and of course the universal reason: could use the money.

Sweet rig. Is the truck rear cab window or wall modded to open into the camper?

I'd be willing to bet this guy has a build thread on ecomodder.com

You guys are giving me tons of ideas

One thing I'm surprised by is the lack of carbon/kevlar foam composite construction.

I built an RV out of a 7.3L Powerstroke bus and some of the construction I'm seeing here would've been heavy, even for that. Sorry I don't have any pics of it in use, but here's the storage bin that it's turned into at my parents' farm. A lot of the interior got recycled for various projects at my sister's farm.
    IMG_0610.jpg

Anyway, foam composites aren't as hard to build as you'd think, just messy. If you get good with them, you can build something like a truck camper with no metal or wood at all (except plates where you need to screw, bolt, or clamp stuff). They'd fix a lot of the condensation issues that have been talked about here, and kevlar is much tougher than the .02" aluminum most campers use for siding.

This channel has a build series on a truck camper (on the more ambitious side) built with the type of construction I'm talking about, and it doesn't appear that he had much prior experience with it at all: https://vimeo.com/keoutfitters

For much more (and professional) content on carbon fiber construction (but not much for foam composites), check out one of my favorite youtube channels: https://www.youtube.com/c/StreetBandito/videos

That said, I really really love the design work on this thread. It was a fantastic read!

Rear cab window opens into camper space. Not a walk or crawl through.

Here is the interior. Nothing fancy but a 6 footer can fit across the space. Has a propane heater so cold weather is no problem.
