Yeah, got from the Humane Society on Thursday.

So my sister found a kitten in her garage last week... Skittish & initially not very friendly. She has two cats & two dogs already so she posted a pic on FB to see if anyone was willing to take it in. We'd been debating on trying to introduce another kitty into our home as our pair are both 13 yrs. old and we know they won't be around forever.
I took the whole family up to her place and we checked it out. Poor little thing was dirty & scared. My sister did her best to coax him to eat and over 3 days was able to get him to open up quite a bit. By the time we were able to take him she had him purring & playing with cat-toys. We brought him home with a vet appointment scheduled for the following morning.



Since he was an orphan I dubbed him "Oliver" now "ollie" for short.

We got him all checked out and surprisingly he had an excellent bill of heath! No mites, worms, or fleas.
A little skinny for almost 12 weeks but other than that he's all good.

Now comes acclimating the current pair to the newcomer.

The GFs cat Mika. She got into a scrap a lil while ago and apparently it got infected, pretty bad.
Poor girl had to have a cut down her arm and a drain put in.
Should be good to go in 10 or so days.

Yeah... so far...

 

We had a pair that was 13 when we brought the 2 youngest in, they hissed and swatted and never did get along. It took a couple of months before the older ones would even be in the same room as the younger two. This was 3 years ago, the older one that is left still hates the two little ones but they will sleep on the couch as long as it's on separate cushions.

 

Interesting... I was hoping for something more than just indifferent tolerance.
We fed them all together today & thee was only one hiss. Ollie seems to want to get to know them both but they seem to see him as an intruder. I hope they'll warm up in time. We are taking it very slowly.

 

Try separating them a couple of hours at a time..put the new one in the bathroom, then let him out and put the others in the bathroom. Works for me every time, 2-3 days tops I've got them integrated.

I was lucky to have a week off when we adopted the 2 little ones so I had a chance to take it really slow with the 4 when they would meet. I think my 2 older ones just hate everything, hopefully you have better luck

Pretty awesome cat! I had a Maine coon colored just like yours and his name was Rimshot. He weighed in at 35-38lbs depending on how many field mice he ate I wish I had a pic of him he was my buddy and would follow me every where like a dog. When you would go to feed him, he would jump in the table above the bowl and brush your head in the "bless you child for feeding me" manner

Also has a strange habit of jumping into the shower with you and licking you. Hell of a surprise if you don't notice him hop in, suddenly feeling a raspy tongue on your ankle, lol.
