All cats are at least a little crazy, some are off the charts crazy. But to cats all Hoomans are bat shit crazy nuts. Through their cat therapy approach they try to tame us and make us some kind of normal so we are at least simi functional in cat society. If they had access to electroshock therapy they would light our ass’ up.

if a cat has had a scary experience with something that you’d expect they’d like, it will take a long time or forever to get over it. Our Cheddar is just now starting to warm up to cardboard boxes, but not bags just yet.

Our first born kitty, Bitty, was a cute calico that we brought home from a local Farmer's Market weekly event. One morning at the crack of dawn, I was startled awake by a brutal thrashing noise going through the entire 2 story apartment. Pretty soon it was coming upstairs right down the hall directly at me. It scared the shit out of me because I just couldn't imagine what it was! I caught in a brutal drive by. Mowed over by 16 sharp-ass cat claws as the kitty went up one side of me and down the other. Then she bailed back down stairs. I was left with a spattering of cat piss.

I finally caught up to her and she had a plastic shopping bag wrapped around her front half and it was like a big parachute behind her and she was just trying to get away from it! She was so scared, she pissed and the bag caught most of it as she was zooming! Turns out, her drive-by punctured our waterbed. My wife brought that to the relationship! It was soooo sixties and 70's.

We went and bought our first conventional bed that night and that poor kitty spent the next 16 years avoiding plastic bags like the plague!

Your story perfectly demonstrates how a poor kitty can be traumatized for life by such a seemingly innocent and harmless part of a human's everyday life.

This same thing happened to our late kitty Albert. Somehow he was messing around and got the handle of a plastic grocery bag around his neck. Scared him so bad he was running around the house with a plastic bag parachute behind him. By the time it was all over with he somehow got wedged between the dryer and wall. Poor boy was never the same after that. Sure miss him.
