So this is going to be a sad story...
Some of you MIGHT remember the history behind how I took in my brother's cat after he had passed on. The cat had just had a litter about 2wks before my brother passed away and everyone was claiming they "couldn't take the cat...", but yet, "I'll take a kitten though..." and I was the only one out of maybe close to 8x or 10x people to voice out, "what about the mom cat...??? WTF???"

Due to location, meaning I live in CA and this was AZ and decisions had to be made pretty damn quick as it wasn't like I could stay for days on end and the only real "quick option" was take the mom cat to some shelter where the cat likely had very little chances and in either case, I just couldn't take any chances regardless. Note that my brother's neighbors were going to look after the cat and her litter for the time being, but the fate of the mom cat was very unknown and likely ending up in a shelter or who knows??? I understand there are "rescue shelters", but it was going to be a pretty daunting task as I've seen for myself.

Anyways, so realistically, I really could NOT take the cat myself as I lived in an apt that did not allow pets, but the lady I lived with had cats of her own, but it was only through a special circumstance she made with the property mgr just as long as it was only her pets.

It's too complicated to put in words, but just know that the room I had rented from was from the lady renting out an extra room... the one that had the "special circumstances". She allowed me to take the cat, but to keep quiet about it, which was really commendable on her part for sure. But her cats, one in particular, just NEVER got along with my cat even though she would clearly just mind her own business. He would hiss very harshly at my cat and it got to the point to where the lady would want me to keep my cat in my room most of the time.

I would go to work only to come home to a crying cat and it just broke my heart badly. I never considered myself a cat person, but this cat just captured my heart knowing the history with how my brother found her when she was a very young kitten found in an open field. Apparently she had lost her family and my brother found her out in the middle of the field in the apt complex he was living at. So he took her in and about 2x years later, he passed away from cancer.

So anyways, I had to move out from my place and I could only find a place that I could afford, but again, no pets allowed. At the time, I only made so much money and I just did not want anymore roommates. I had been trying to get into a higher position at my company and trying to work my way up to get into the engineering dept, but it was going to take months if not years. Things were promising, but just too slow in advancement.

I had asked my sister if she could temp take the cat until I found a place I could afford that allowed pets. It turned out that my sister's dogs got along with the cat almost immediately and they even chased each other. My cat finally had "friends" and it broke my heart only because I didn't want to rip her away from her "friends". I talked to my sister and asked if she could keep her. I was very extremely sad while saying this, believe me. It was for the better and I was hoping my sister would say yes and agree...

So now, my cat is now living with my sister, but finally has friends and free roam of the house and essentially a house she could call her own.
    IMG_20230318_160440.jpg
    IMG_20230206_180636.jpg

As you can see, they sleep together very comfortably. At first, they didn't get along, but it didn't take very long to get to this point.

I just recently acquired a new job that pays very well and I have to move, but in the process looking for a place that allowed pets so I could see my cat to come visit me on occasion was the main reason. But a situation arose and my niece and her husband just recently had cats, but from strays outside their house. They can't keep the kittens as they have quite a few pets already and they were looking for anyone that could take them when they were old enough, but it has to be pretty quick.

Long story short, I found out that they were thinking about eventually taking them to some sort of "shelter" once they were of "age". I don't know the complete details other than what was said above? Other than that, in either case, once I found out the situation, I told my little niece I would take them because I didn't want the cats to have an unknown future... not that the unpredictable future I had just went through myself with my cat, but at least that turned out good in the end for my cat.

For my newly acquired job, it is very stable and I am able to find a place without needing roommates AND the new place allows pets. In about 2x months I can take the two kittens from my niece as she will keep them for me for the time being and understands my situation.

Here are the 2x, both brothers... The white one is going to be named "Dusty" because he looks like one of those dust mops everytime I look at him. The black/gray I named "Beethoven" (a.k.a. "Beety" for short) because he looks like Beethoven.

    IMG_20230604_104325.jpg

I guess one could say a very sad story, but a happy one in the end as well.

Plus, it's not like my cat is "gone" and her fate ended up being a good one. I'm just glad she is happy and finally has friends and a house of her own.

Yeah, I would fall asleep only to wake up to something "heavy" on me??? I'd wake up like, "WTF is on me...???" Only to look up and see my cat laying on top of my shoulder looking DOWN at me??? o_O:facepalm::laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Don't let the white one... "Dusty"... fool you by how he looks in the picture. My little niece says he's very... "active"!!! Meaning he LOVES to cause trouble like biting your feet while you are sleeping. :eek:o_O:bananadead: He looks so docile though doesn't he? :notsure: You know the saying, "don't judge a book by its cover." :rasta:

Not hard, just very active and very playful.

And then there is "Beethoven" who looks just as krazy!!!:goingcrazy::help::pray::rasta:

All good though, I'm a bit krazy myself!!!:laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:
