I think mine learned it from me.

 

Your cat totally trust's you when they can sleep on their backs and expose their stomach to you.
This girl was a semi feral kitten when I got her. It took a couple of years to get her like this but she is still cautious and when new people come and visit, she is gone!

 

Squeak would do that all the time. My wife called it "Full Skank" or "Half Skank" if she had two legs together. I just thought it was great that she was that relaxed in our house to not sleep in a protected posture that wouldn't expose her underside.

She actually improved even more to the point that they asked me to come and pick her up in the afternoon! But after getting her home and looking at the huge bag of medicines and the strict precise times they needed administered I realized that l was over my head and overwhelmed. She had to go back to the Vet to stay in the Boarding ICU for the next couple weeks as I feel it will be less stressful and safer for her recovery.

 

So what was the diagnosis for the tumor itself or is it still in for pathology?
Doing the right thing certainly isn’t the easiest decision to make. I hope you’re able to visit with her frequently while she’s there. When I cat Suki had her surgery a few years back I missed 3 days of work just to be home with her. I was one of those types who rarely missed work and I didn’t have any issues with missing those days.
Please keep us updated with her recovery. It’ll probably be harder on you than it is on her.

 

I am being watched...

Yesterday was a sad day.
We have a few feral kitties in our neighborhood. This past week, the runt of the litter, a small black ‍cat either got into it with a raccoon or got raccoon or got ran over. Tuesday, I got up to have a smoke around 3am and he was laying/sleeping about 7 feet from my door. Never paid any mind/attention to me. I just left him be. The next day I saw him walking around, he didn't look very good. Still, I left him be. I am not going to chase him down. Yesterday, I got up and went out to load my truck and he was laying under a parked car on the street. I approached him and touched his tail. He looked up at me with the saddest look I have seen from an animal in a long time. That when I noticed he had a few open wounds around the neck area. He got up and tried to scamper away. He did not look very good, wobbly and looking like he was on deaths doorstep. He then plopped down underneath a 4 runner parked next door. Until the gardener came. He then moved another 10 feet and layed down in the driveway. Then moved another 10 feet into my driveway. After that he moved about 20 feet under my neighbors car that was parked on the street. My wife and a few neighbors put out some food for him. Apparently he did eat some and was getting water from the gutter. I ended up calling animal services, he looked miserable. I can't take in another animal, let alone afford the vet bills. Animal services came out and picked him up and took him to the shelter. Sorry, I don't have any pics.

 

It's a hard thing to watch. I have been feeding the ferrals for years. Half the kittens never make it for various reasons. I can't save them all. But I can give them food, water, and I built them a house to get out of the weather in the winter. There's several that hang out around my house. I talk to them but I don't pet them because I don't want them to loose their fear of humans. Some people are not nice to them. Someone in the area poisons them. So I try and keep them near my house with food, water, and shelter. Unfortunately it's a hard life for ferals, they usually only live 3 to 5 years before they succumb to some disease. Feline lukemia or aids usually gets them. But I like having them around. I have 6 that I have taken in, I can't take any more. I had 7 but one recently passed. There is a bumper crop of black kittens this year.
This is what I used to come home to every day. The litters aren't as big anymore thankfully.
They would wait for me to come home from work for food. It made me smile to come home to this everyday. Lol.

 

I bet they kept the rodent population down , I’ve got 3 that stay inside and my neighbor has about 5 that are outside. So when the outside cats come around my indoor cats start going crazy running all over the place cause they think they’re being invaded.

 

Only my Munch gets bothered by foreign cats outside - Marty & Ollie could basically care less. Munch freaks out, growls, and hisses at them through the glass.

 

I've never even so much as had a mouse turd in my garage. A few blocks away they have a rat problem. I've watched them eat a rat in my driveway, last thing that goes down is the back feet and tail just like spaghetti !!!

We used to rescue farrels, trap, catch, rehabilitate and adopt them out.
