That's a horrible idea. What time?
Said goodbye to this little girl six years ago. This was the last pic I took of her. Carrying her "baby".

The foster kittens are now mobile enough to escape their nesting box, but still a bit un-coordinated. Kitten names are: Ferris, Sloane (the tabbies), Rooney and Grace (the black kittens).

Same problem here. FrickFrack took KitKats bed. Now I have to buy another one cause they both love to lay there looking out the window.

We had to put our beloved Henry to sleep on Saturday. He bolted out the door just after coming home from the vet on Monday morning, and didn't come back. He's never done that before, and we were frantic. We looked all night and into the next day. He's never been out overnight before, and it was cold and snowing here. I had to leave on a business trip the next day, and stuffed flyers into mailboxes and drove around until the last minute. My wife continued on foot, and even borrowed a cart from the golf course and drove the whole thing twice looking for him. At about 7:00 pm on Tuesday I got a call from a neighbor on the other side of the subdivision - maybe a half mile away - who had seen the flyer and had a cat in his garage. His dog had cornered the cat there, and his wife shut the door to stop the confrontation. I called my wife and she ran right over to get Henry. We were so happy to have him back, but after one or two good days he started to crash. Apparently the dehydration and/or exposure caused his kidneys to shut down again. This was not the first time, and his cardiologist didn't think his little heart could take the treatment again. The decision made itself, but my wife had to deal with it alone. We're heartbroken, but can take solace in the fact that we kept him happy and comfortable for 5.5 years after his initial heart failure diagnosis. The cardiologist had given him 6-18 months. Henry had a good quality of life right up to the end, and was warm and safe before he started going down hill.

Here's the last picture that we have of Henry, and also the last one that I can find of him with his brother Arthur. Arthur is not taking it well.

I can't like that. And I know how much a loss like that hurts. Only animal people understand, it's a member of the family. So sorry and sad for you.

It never gets easier, especially when you (personally) have to put them down yourself.:angrygirl: we are talking about no vet, no medications... ect. I grew up on a farm environment and have seen many things and have done many things that seem cruel or unusual. Chickens, cows, horses, pigs, sheep, all sorts of reptiles from lizards to snakes.
I was always taught that life is precious and everything has a purpose on this planet. :hattip: therefore I have been raised that everything that lives has to die for a reason. It is when that reason becomes questionable, that persons need to take notice.
Oops, opening a can of worms here:anonymous:

So sorry to hear about the loss of your dear Henry. “ Quality of life” along with “warm and safe” are the best things we are able to offer to our pets who in return give us unconditional love. Snugs and pets to Arthur as he grieves along with you.

My heart goes out to you guys!!! I’m especially sorry for your wife having to do that alone. Having all parties involved really helps especially when you’re 2nd guessing that kind of decision? You’re definitely in my prayers!!!
