So while I was at the nursery getting a Fig tree, I grabbed a nice new box for Shrimp. He's walked around it and thru it to get to his older smaller box.

I guess he's chosen a fave.

Our latest fosters are robust, healthy and reaching the 2 pound benchmark…this will be our last weekend with the little rascals before they go up for adoption.

Well I and my wife feel about as stupid, sad and disappointed as we've ever been. We learned tonight we were scammed on this. A fully sent up, functioning website, with a fully functioning tracking feature, but delays, excuses and then the largest of the red flags, the shipping companies phone is "un-reachable" and I just found the people we purchased the Maine Coon from on a pet scam web-site.

To say we are utterly heartbroken is an understatement. We thought we were getting another child, and instead got scammed out of $500+ bucks. I honestly have not been this sad over anything in decades. It broke my heart. Its not even the money..........its the family member we thought we were getting that likely doesn't even exist.
Birthday and memorial day utterly shattered.

This is a first for me. As a 53 year old man I thought I was immune to scams, and could see them coming a mile away.

My mom was 94 when she passed this past February, and I wasn't sad much because she lived a long full life, and was lonely without my dad and ready to go. I didn't shed any tears at my fathers funeral back in 2017 as he had had dementia and had not been the same person for more than 5 years.

I cried like a baby when we lost our big man Sam back in 2021, as we are long empty nesters and our 2 legged daughter just turned 29, and same when we lost her big guy last year near Christmas that lived his whole life with us.

Thought I was done with that heartbreak for while but this nearly tops it. I lost it tonight when I realized there WAS no Ray, no kitten and all. I've always wanted a big Maine Coon since i was a kid, but having a dream shattered when this close to it, is hard to take. I think the wife is taking this all much better than I.

I haven't really even thought much about the more than $600 now that I think about it down the tubes, since they scammed me into paying F&F so they could "receive the entire down payment".

People who pray on emotions like this are the worst kind of people, but atm, I dont have the heart to even try to fight them

 

I guess stupidly I followed my heart on this and should have put my brain to more use. I believe this is probably as much my fault for being stupid and gullible when it came to something I really wanted.

 

Oh wow, so sorry to hear about your problems. I just can't understand how people can do that to other people.

Once you get back on solid emotional ground you might want to at least reach out to PayPal to let them know that the recipient is a scammer.

Cats love their comfort and warmth but find the most uncomfortable places and positions to lay. Will never try to understand or figure out cat thinking. I think its beyond human comprehension.

 

I've often wondered that after seeing Gunny in some very uncomfortable positions and sound asleep

Yes this an also notify CC company/ bank as they might investigate and ultimately get charges pressed. Not to mention they might return the funds they got paid out. So sorry for you both!
I recently
Got scammed by an eBay seller very recently and eBay can’t or won’t do anything about it. It just flat out sucks that there’s people out there that do that. How do they go to bed and feel good about themselves?
