That was a tough post to read, but like I have said before, there will be a special place in heaven for people like you that rescue animals....great ending to your sad story. :)

Yep definitely a sad beginning for him. People can be real monsters and it makes me sad to think about but it is truly amazing how animals can bounce back from just about anything. It sure is nice to see all of the love for felines on here

I had read somewhere that Calico/Tortie/Tabico cats owners when surveyed complained they had much more of an attitude than other cats. In my house our Calico and Tabico have some real big attitudes and whenever something doesn't go their way I immediately have to grab the water bottle because those claws are out and dug into my carpet or couch. They even look at me while they do it like they're saying "This is your fault. You pushed me to this".

I think it might depend on the cat, but I have had two tabbies at different times growing up and they were pretty chill. Hell I used to throw them over my shoulder when I would go walking around. My mom has her black cat now and man he is pretty salty if things don't go his way, much like your description. I personally love tabbies, but I think picking the right one before getting them is key.

True, I didn't really intend on getting any of them but 2 of them were abandoned at a couple days old and the other was half dead in my driveway so I couldn't let them suffer and ended up taking them in. If I ever was to adopt a shelter cat it would take some time to find one that worked in our fur family. Sometimes I wonder if they have just absorbed some of my attitude and that's why they act crazy sometimes.

Hmm you got me, all of our cats have always been shelter cats. I wonder if that makes them easier are harder to pick out of the bunch from an attitude perspective?

My sister found Ollie in her garage- his mother was a stray and had left him there presumably to go hunt. He ended up getting locked in overnight.
We ended up taking him in, I'm sure it's a much better life than being a stray.
He's quite lovable when he wants to be and has a purr like a small block V-8.

It is definitely a process getting a new kitten in the home with two older cats.
    Takes patience on everyone's part.

My grandfather's Siamese was the same way. He acted 100% dog. Came when called. Fetched. Did tricks.

Killed everything he could. I'd swear he was smiling when he brought you a lizard or mole.

Lost a fight to a giant squirrel (it beat his ass), so he left squirrels alone after that.
