Hey def, there's a good chance what she saw is a segment of a tapeworm. Easy to get rid of with OTC meds. If you have another cat that he licks, treat that one too. Also, you'll need to check for fleas. Don't remember the life cycle of TW, but the flea is an integral part. Fleas and TW go hand in hand

Thanks for the heads up / info. *sigh*, it's probably time for a vet appointment. Only one kitty right now.

We had to de-worm one of our rescue dogs. NOT cheap, but we've been worm-free since by keeping up with Bravecto and HeartGard. We were told we got it early, but it still took 6 months to clear her up.

Bellatrix has been my favorite little girl since before I met my wife. She was at a no-kill shelter for over a year before she decided to live with me.

Then there's this little guy. Wife saw him on Facebook with a story about being a feral that was abandoned by his mama, had fleas, worms, skin, bones, and little else. Now he's fat, annoying, and tries to make his big sister Bella play with him but she is having none of his shit.

Wife named him Sterling, as in Sterling Mallory Archer, but I just call him Bastardo.

Well she's a pretty old lady and she's always been the type to disregard the opinions of others, so she tends to do what she wants.

I thought I could move and she gave me a look to let me know I better stay still.

Rescued from shelter at 10(ish) weeks late august 2016, almost lost her - 1 week of IV fluids and antibiotics, 2 more weeks of oral antibiotics, forced feeding, and subcutaneous fluids, fast forward to december - she's healthy, spayed, and today is back to her normal adorable self.

we call her luna... or 4k.... depending on our mood.

Got it in one. TLDR : Grinch's heart grew three sizes that day, or how cats chose their staff.

I went to the shelter to see if i was still allergic to cats before committing to getting one with the wife. While there the staff let out 3 kittens, all from the same litter (they had named them after 3's company) Jack, Chrissy, and Janet, all tearing around the kitten jail.

After about 5 min Chrissy jumped up on my shoulder and promptly curled up and tucked her head under my chin and fell asleep. 45 minutes later I called my wife and asked her how pissed off she'd be if I brought home a cat. Wife was a bit suprised but ok with it. So shelter waived fee's because she's a black cat, I take her to family vet - she gets a clean check-out. 2 days later she's not eating, nor drinking - getting very dehydrated - we find out she had her first set of vaccines the day they picked her up, the day before they released her to me.

We head off to the after hours vet on sunday afternoon, and thats when the wallet started to cry.... all her tests came out normal, except for a slight WBC elevation (minor deviation) after

Vet has no idea what's wrong, stool sample is pest free. Best we can figure either adverse reaction to the dewormer or first vaccine. we continued care by sub-cutaneous fluids and oral antibiotics and dewormers etc for the full course 2 weeks of forced feeding every 4 hours. (My wife fell hard for this adorkable little kitten) and now you know why we call her 4k...

As for why we call her luna.... I wanted to call her "cake" my last name is forrest... :p the vet thought it was hilarious... wife not so much... Wife agreed to luna... domestic peace secured.

and no I didnt realize there was a cat in a cartoon named luna that is black with a white patch on its chest till afterwards :S
