Harnesses and collars are really bad ideas for outdoor cats. If you know the owners suggest they remove it. The collar can get snagged on things as the cat is out doing it's thing and the cat starves to death or is killed by another animal as they're stuck and helpless. If the owner feels a collar with ID tag is necessary they should buy a break-away style.

I agree. No clue who the "owner" is. Cat almost has the harness torn off. More so each day.

We sneak our bags in and pack while they are eating. They still catch on as soon as the cat sitter comes by for her latest updates.

Question for you all. My youngest has impeccable litter box habits except for when the alarm goes off in the morning. If we don’t get up, because heaven forbid we push the snooze, he goes and just dribbles in the sink?!
Is he just being a jerk?

NOT TRUE if you use the correct type of collar. Cats should always use an elastic or breakaway collar for the reasons stated above, but if the cat has a home and no ID on him he's much more likely to get picked up by someone who might think he needs help, or taken to a shelter and euthanized for no reason. Hopefully he's chipped, but I doubt most people would check - not all shelters do either. We almost swiped somebody's cat who came around our old house for food when in reality he was just double-dipping. Because he looked well taken care of we actually put a collar on him ourselves with a note attached in an aluminum pill bottle that basically said "put a tag on this cat or he's ours". He came back a few days later with the collar still on, but the bottle had been replaced with a proper tag. I can't tell you how many times we have seen cats in parks, next to roads, and all over the place and didn't know if they were a stray needing help or just owned by someone who lets them run loose with no identification. Save people some stress and protect your animals by making sure people know where they belong!

I agree that a harness should only be used when the cat is with the owner, and never when they are outside alone.

Both Gizmo and Rascal hate it when they see my travel bag or my Military bag on the bed . They know right away they're going to be left alone . Gizmo will grab the bags straps by his teeth and try and drag it off the bed

Yup jerk for sure... unless he’s got some mental issues. My sister had this cat that’s so screwed up he pisses in the sink, shoes, bedding and has even pissed on my sister when she was sleeping!!! I love most cats and appreciate the differences in their personalities but this thing is a total POS and needs to be dealt with accordingly. My sister actually saved his life and bottle fed him almost from birth. Do doubt this is one of those mental issues.
I only hope, for your sake, that’s the only place he’s going and you just haven’t seen other spots that are being soaked with piss.

I couldn’t deal with a cat that did that. I’ve always said a cat can have a great home here but he/she just has to have good bathroom habits. Hair balls are another story.

He’s not going anywhere else and he doesn’t always do it. Our house is mainly tile floors which makes it pretty easy to see if someone’s had an accident. Not to mention you’d smell it a mile away. He’s just a strange little guy. As soon as it is breakfast or dinner time he usually runs full speed ahead and has to go poop and pee in the box. Pee in one box, poo in the other.

Yes that is awesome. Would love to have a traveling “go for a ride” cat. Especially one the would knowingly go pee before the ride. Suki will ride in the car a little bit but can only go for short rides. I’d worry about her getting a bladder infection if she had to hold her pee too long.
