Sorry for your loss! My cat has Kidney failure also.. Hes about 15 now, and still going strong. Hes a fighter.

 

Dusty, a 2 year old rescue cat we got in December. We got lucky, a well tempered cat that allows us to stay in the same house.

 

So sorry man.

 

so sad. I've had my two longer than my kids. They're both 13 now.

 

This guy keeps coming back under new names.

Kitty's spending the night at the vet waiting to get 2 big bladder stones removed.

 

My buddy Ponce - almost 14! - needs a vet appt. he's slowing down.

 

One of my wife's dogs had those until we switched the dog's water to reverse osmosis. Those can be painful.

 

Vet said she'd have to stay on a special food that cost $4/lb. Just from reading about them apparently they can be essentially eliminated by going to wet food since cats try to get most of their water from their food.

 

Yeah, especially Male cats. All though I think cats in general should be on can/wet food. I only do dry food in the middle of the day and he just nibbles on it.

 

If all a cat gets is wet food their teeth will go bad. In my experience that is. My mom only feeds hers soft food and they always have bad / rotten teeth. Mine only get hard food and never had that problem but so far 1 of three died of kidney failure. Damned if you do damned if you don't I guess.
