A little something every chance we get.
He is, of course, just out of reach on the lap as always. Happy enough, and thank you very much! I do tell him how far hugs and rubs come from, but he is not very good with geography outside of the yard!

New addition to the family. Allie, which is short for Alajuela. Which is the name of the second largest city, and the name of the province where we live. We wanted her to have a Costa Rican name. We think it suits her. 20190402_133834.jpg
She seems stressed, I know. But she's slowly learning how to relax.

This is Allie with Bella. They're slowly getting getting to know each other.

What's it like living down there? Been looking at CR for when we retire - lots of expats down there.

I don't know how familiar you are with Costa Rica. But I would suggest researching what area you'd be I terested in. The touristy areas are exactly that, full of tourists. The beach area are hotter and more humid than say the Central Valley. Electricity for A/C would add up pretty quickly. That's one reason why there's a lot of property near beaches available. Everybody wants it, and many are selling beause of the heat and expense of running A/C all the time. Plus some people buy without looking at what's nearby ie shopping and hospitals JIC. The tourist areas are more expensive to do your everyday shopping at.
Plus I'd suggest doing a tour of the health care facilities. Both private and government hospitals and clinics, including finding out the costs of each.
See different areas and see what appears to you.
It's a different lifestyle down. You don't have the over abundance of items selection like the U.S. and Canada has, like big box stores every where. But if you can deal with the differences, you'll appreciate the relaxing lifestyle.

I really don't know anything about CR - that's why I was asking. A couple that worked where I do moved down there, but I haven't seen them in years....

I heard that the beaches were hot - I'd want something more temperate.

It's a beautiful country. Definitely a different lifestyle. Which is good. Not so go go go!
The country has numerous micro-climates. Depending on proximity to the ocean, or even altitude. I suggest going online and checking the different areas and the corresponding temperatures throughout the year. An hour drive can make a huge difference in temperature and humidity. If you're doing this after retirement, think about proximity to healthcare. Just in case.

Here's a good website and YouTube Videos about Costa Rica and mocong here.

I've watched his videos before and after moving dowm here, and they're pretty damn accurate in my mind.
