You made a difference in each others lives and that’s what matters most. Even though you didn’t claim him as yours stilll want to offer my condolences.

Introductions can be pretty tricky. I’ve had them go super good with little drama and then the tough ones seemed really bad because I had unrealistic expectations. Give it lots of time and try to isolate them from each other a while longer. Sooner or later their curiosity in each other will take over the hate. Sometime they just don’t get along and tolerance is as good as it gets. Just don’t force them on each other this early on. Thing could be made worse. The daily improvement may be so minimal that you don’t notice it until 1 day you say “ hey theregetting sling now”. Speaking from experience meezers can be very protective of their person and they definitely establish a hierarchy.

Very true. When we introduced Ollie to the family we still had Ponce and Augie together. Now those two were brother and sister, and always got along. After introducing Ollie, Ponce warmed up to him but Augie and Ollie only got to the point where she was tolerant (Barely).

After Ponce passed away we introduced Harry to the family. He and Ollie became super good buddies fairly quickly but once again Augie just tolerates him.

I think it may have to do with the fact that the two boys are only a year apart and can tangle with each other pretty well. Where as Augie is nearly 15 years old now and only wants to lie in the sunshine.

My wife and I have had several discussions around perhaps getting another kitten while the two boys are still young. She is insistent that we get another orange cat. I don’t know why but she’s got a thing for them now. :notsure:

We faced that decision while Albert was still around, but he and Louisa were really close at that point. She did a great job caring for him and just loving him. I decided it be best to let him live out his remaining years in peace and not have to deal with a kitten. Just seems best for us to have a 3 cat home. Suki is now 6, Louisa is about 4.5 and Amos is 1.5. No point in us adding fuel to the fire by adding another.
I was never partial to any type or color cat but after we rescued our first Siamese (Maxine “Max”) I was hooked. I never had any oranges and was just ok with them but after seeing all the orange pictures I really like them now. Maybe it’s just what I see in their eyes and certain ones speak to you. When I was a little kid my aunt had a really cool orange that was a total outgoing beach cat. His name was “OP” aka Orphaned Pussy.

Our 1st cat, Kitty, went everywhere with us. On planes, 4 hour car rides to the lake, hiking on a leash & even an ambulance ride when we wrecked a car. He adopted us at the Toronto Humane Society in 1979 & we catered to him until 1998.

He enjoyed popcorn & could hear a yogurt container open from a dead sleep. He would occasionally taste white wine dipped on a pinky. He preferred pinot grigio. But he drew the line at wearing a smoking jacket. That's just crazy!

Kitty was once mauled by a pair of Huskies in the country & even jumped off a rooftop deck in the city (defending his territory). He would also growl deeply to tell us of approaching strangers at the door.

He was more than just a cat, he was our first born.

Mine does this. I've never had a cat growl at strangers before, but Smokey will hang out in the living room window and if anybody steps into view that isn't myself or the GF he'll give a deep low growl under his breath.

Picked up a laser pointer at the pet store last night, my cat Harley used to love them but he wasn't very interested in it anymore when I brought it home.

My wife's cat however, holy hell he nearly broke through the drywall multiple times trying to catch the thing. I almost feel bad with how amped up he gets over it lol. I should get a video tonight.

The one in the gray tux is my wife's crazy cat, Mai Thai. He was feral as a kitten and has never gotten over the feral instincts completely, he only implicitly trusts her and no one else, even though I've lived with him for over 2 years now. Still runs from me whenever I stand up.

one of our past cats loved the milk jug rings...she'd bat that around for hours, also foam earplugs. We still miss her.

Well you tried. Some animals arent meant to be tamed/caged;) sounds like he went out in a fight! Good on ya for trying.;)

reminded me of a cat we had growing up. She would follow us around walking in the woods, one day on a trail behind where we lived, the cat saw/smelled something growled real big and took off toward whatever it was...never did see anything. Later she came back with a baby rabbit...LOL it was still alive but apparently the cat punctured something as the rabbit didnt make it LOL

First vet visit today. He gained almost an entire pound in the week and a half we've owned him! Didn't realize the vet his insurance is through was 20 minutes away, so got to drive with my left hand while he used my right as a headrest.
He was pretty lethargic after all the poking and prodding and I wasn't feeling too good so we took a nap when we got home
