Full stretch he’s as long as the bathroom rug he’s on. This was how I found him when I walked in to get ready for work and turning the light on at 4am

It's been rough the last couple of days. He started licking the shaved area on his back trying to get at the stitches and it got really irritated and was bleeding in spots. He just wouldn't leave it alone, and no matter how tight we put it on the little bugger could get out of the neck cone. As soon as we fell asleep he would dump the cone and start licking. We spent two days and one long night taking turns watching him at all times to stop him. It was exhausting. Then the wife went to the pet store to look for different options - a different cone or something. She came home with a small fabric dog harness that fastens with Velcro around the neck and chest. This covered the spot perfectly, so we cleaned him up, applied some antibiotic ointment that the vet gave us, and put the harness on him. This let us sleep for a couple of nights, but it really freaked him out and he would just sit wherever we put him. He won't eat or use the box with it on, and he would just look at us with the saddest eyes ever, so we took it off whenever we could. This also let the wounds breath a bit. We talked to our vet again - who deserves a medal for the amount of attention she has given Henry - and decided to add some benadryl to make things stop itching and calm him down. Today is the second day of this and he's finally stopped the obsessive licking. His back looks much better, and he's now free to roam without the dreaded harness.

Now the bad news. While we were doing all of this touching and putting things on and taking things off, we found two more small masses under his skin. One is on his neck, and the other is on his back close to his tail. This is bad from a metastatic perspective, and kind of points to the existence of a central internal tumor. We don't know what to do now. The vet may be able to get both of these off using a local anesthetic and a single stitch each, but how many times should we do this to a cat that has heart failure? We've deferred the decision until his visit on Thursday to get the original stitches out.

For now he's passed out on the guestroom bed where he's been sleeping the past few nights with my wife. He seems comfortable but as exhausted as we are. He's still eating well, and everything else seems okay. We hope to get him back to his normal routine shortly after these stitches come out.

My smaller cat Snips (grey) was about 7# at 1 year but filled out to 10.5 by two years. Bonzo (white) went from 9# to 11.8# from 1-1.5 years and seems20180930_141138.jpg to be peaking out.

This is skittles. She weighs between 7-8lbs at 5.5 years old. Pretty much goes limp as a dish rag when you pick her up. Total sweet heart, you can cradle her in your arms like a baby for hours if you wanted to

Today has been a hard day for me, sadly i lost my sidekick waffles. She was almost 15 years old, i had her for almost 14 of that, and over the last two weeks she had lost a bunch of weight, and yesterday she started losing her bladder and became lethargic, i took today off to take her to the vet, but she passed away before i could leave. She was my little buddy.

Sorry to hear that man :( I've been through it before but even now I can't imagine what I'll do when my guy Harley's time comes. He's been my best friend for several years, adopted him at the first apartment I rented living on my own, after he was left behind by the previous tenant. He's been my sidekick ever since.

I imagine it's hard as hell but I'm sure she had a life full of love and care and that's all they want from us.

I'm so sorry for you. She was such a cutie, and I bet she was happy being your little buddy. This is never easy, but you gave her a good home and she couldn't ask for better than that.
