I'm so sorry to hear about waffles. My condolences. Great photos and thank you for sharing them. I have no doubt that she felt the love that you have for her, and that she loved you right back. They can tell when they are loved.

    I'm so sorry :(:(:(
My 21 years old cat passed away last year. Had her since I was 4 or 5. What hits the hardest is that you go to your everyday routine but there's something missing. Each time your are sad, think about how loved she was and the good times you and your cat had. The cat is gone, but the memories aren't. Life will have you meet again in some form or another

    Pardon the shirtless nudity..

Highlight of coming home from work, if I lay face down on the bed with my shirt off, Harley jumps on my back and gives me a shoulder massage. Does it every time and usually goes on for 10-15 minutes.

He's a solid 15lbs so it feels awesome, as long as I keep his claws trimmed lol

    20190522_174229~2.jpg

My only complaint is that he focuses 90% of his effort on my right shoulder, so the left feels neglected (phone flips the image)

Sorry to hear about your cute little kitty. She looked like a really sweet cat. Like others here, been through some of the most painful losses and I felt like I could never smile again or get another cat but as people we survive. Each day will get better but there will be some rough ones for sure. When the time is right you’ll find another cat that will mean just as much to you as waffles but just st a little different. I love my cat Suki just st as much as I did with our late cat max. Never thought that could happen. Suki is much different that Maxie was but I definitely love her just the way she is. I hope you find the right cat to fill the void.

Sorry to hear about your loss. While growing up in Illinois, one of our house cats, Shep, passed away on my lap on our way to the vet. That was a difficult lesson of life I learned that day. They live in your memories though and my favorite with Shep is that he liked getting pulled around house via shoestring while sitting in a shoe box.

What is your favorite memory of Waffles?

Actually, this may sound odd, but when she was about 4 years old until she was around 10 or so i used to play fetch with her alot. She loved to fetch a ball, or anything really that i would throw down the hallway, she would bring it back. She always knew when i was feeling bad or just down, she knew when i needed just a little time. Its been rough today, i knew it was coming, and i was prepared for it, but as with anything, its never easy when it happens.

Thank you everyone for your condolences, i appreciate it. We still have our other cat bubby, he seems to be down and a bit distant, i think he knows, but hopefully things will be ok for us and him as well.

    Thank you all again

Harley used to play fetch with me when he was younger, he would only do it with a hacky sack though. Anything else he'd chase and then leave it

Now if I throw the hacky sack for him he looks at me like 'I don't fall for that shit anymore' lol

Thats a awesome story about the shoe box. We did the exact same thing with our late cat Maxine. I would tell her ”max go get in your truck” and she would run over to it and jump in. We put all kinds of stickers on it- including the “if you value your life as much as I value my truck- don’t fuck with it” sticker. Our cats now wouldn’t consider it. That’s the unique things about them that make for great memories.

I’m so, so sorry for your loss! I can’t say anything the others haven’t already said so just know we all know and feel your pain. :pout:

    She was certainly a cutie.

Your other cat knows and it’s amazing how they seem to go through a mourning period themselves.

    Hang in there.

Not odd at all. Our cat Arthur plays fetch in our upstairs hallway. It's carpeted so he can haul ass up and down with plenty of traction. I sit on the sofa in the media room and toss whatever we're playing with at the time down the hall, and he brings it right back. We also had a foster cat named Dumpling that enjoyed the same game.

We took Henry to the vet yesterday to get his stitches out, and everything went well. He's healed up nicely and the scars look really good. Another interesting thing is the fact that both of the newly identified bumps are no longer there. The vet said that this can happen with mast cell tumors when you give antihistamines, and we've been giving him around-the-clock benadryl for the itching for about a week. So, we have decided to not worry about any new bumps, and if any pop up and cause problems we'll add an antihistamine back to his meds - the cardiologist says that this won't be a problem with his heart failure, so Henry's looking good for now. We moved him out of the guest room and he enjoyed a large sleeping pile with all of us in one bed for the first time in two weeks. It was nice.

We also took Arthur with us to the vet for his annual checkup, and the boys were able to calm each other down during the trip. He got a big old shot in the butt, and may have to go back to have another tooth pulled, but otherwise no issues with him.

We are looking forward to some normalcy for awhile, and just having to worry about Henry's ticker. Thanks to everyone for your support and well wishes!

Glad to hear the good news!!! He (and you guys) beserve a little bit of normalcy for sure. I’m a worrier by nature and if I can give any advise - try not to worry about what you can’t control. Make the best of every day you’ve got with him and when or if something happens with his heart it’ll happen and you can just deal with it then. All the “what if’s” in life may never happen. At leSt that’s what I tell myself on a daily basis. Enjoy the day with your boy!!!
